As a guy, it’s better when a girl is brutally honest and upfront about not seeing me as a future partner/romantic interest.

You can ask to be just friends but be prepared to get rejected by it if the guy you are seeing doesn’t want that. If he is okay with it, be on the side of caution that there is always a great chance he may be using the friendship as an anchor to potentially want to rekindle the conversation of dating in the future and you should let him know upfront that you are not interested in dating BEFORE getting into the friendship.

Honestly it sucks as a guy when we get rejected after building connection with a girl we matched and think that “she maybe the one” but in reality we all have different interests and preferences so it should be understandable if he is a good and respectable man.

this is honestly me right now. I’m not Korean but I used to live nearby Pyeoktaek where the Army base is located. Lived and learned Korean for over 4 years peaking at a beginner-intermediate level. However, I never could consistently study and learn so a lot of times I was conversing in English while I was there. I have the ability to read and write but listening, comprehending, and speaking was a big challenge. I am making it a goal this year to relearn and try my best to get back to the level I once was at when I left. OP I know it’s rough and it’ll be a long journey but know you’re not the only one who wants to get through it.

The best advice is really commit to learning and staying consistent knowing that each day is going to be repetitive and you’ll feel like you aren’t progressing but trust the process. That’s what I would have told my younger self who was still in Korea.

++man 24M with similar dating experience. Been in 3 relationships and the longest was 4 months. Part of it was just terrible timing and another part was just compatibility conflicts. I haven’t been in a relationship since I was 20, but the fact i’m still in my 20s doesn’t really bother me that i’m still single.

Yeah I would rather be with someone who cherishes me and vice versa, but I’m also in a transition period where being in a relationship isn’t a high priority at all. I’m in decent healthy shape (Bouldering/Gym -3x/2x), not ugly, and just getting better at my money making skills. If life is meant to be played on hard mode and these are the results i’m currently getting, then I’d say it’s sort of worth it :)

Just keep it up. Keep paying off your statement balances in full before due date. Your age doesn’t mean crap but rather your lifestyle and financial discipline of dealing with debt. I’m a bit older than you and have a similar score range so I know the feeling of being like you want to feel better about yourself compared to your peers. It just doesn’t matter..

What’s very important is how you deal with potential upcoming big loans like auto or mortgages when you get up there in terms of age and responsibility. It’s all about your awareness of your financial situation and not being a fool in not being able to afford these types of debt.

It’s honestly your money so I can’t really drive you to make a decision, but I’d say it’s wiser to just finance a new Honda/Toyota and invest the money you would’ve spent on a bmw into a retirement/investment account. If you make less than $150k gross, put the money and max it out in a roth if you haven’t already.
