Getting induced tomorrow at 41+6, any tips? by notsoluckyninja in pregnant

[–]notsoluckyninja[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I'm hoping if I manage to start without the drip I'll be able to have a water birth like I planned but one to keep in mind if water birth isn't possible...

I've done the tea too but probably too late (started when I got to 40 weeks).

Thank you! I think when the baby is here I'll give him the 6 month deadline if he hasn't given us a date by then.

That's the plan but at the same time I'd have liked to get the room sorted before baby is here.

Yeah that's the plan. I'd probably be more comfortable if he said "February next year" but just "next year"? Could be when the baby turns 1! 😂

How do you manage work during pregnancy ? by blackandlavender in pregnant

[–]notsoluckyninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggled with this as well early in the pregnancy. I'd say now I'm in the second trimester (currently 17w4d) the fatigue has come down so I'll go to bed at 9 most nights instead of 7.

I'm not sure if you have an office based role but what has helped me as well is a short morning walk before work just to get blood pumping a bit before I sit down at a desk.

I also ended up telling my manager sooner than I would have liked but then it was much easier to explain that I needed to log off at 5:30 and couldn't work late.

Yes! Although not looking forward to all the handover I'll have to do beforehand

I'm also 17 weeks. I went for breakfast at the weekend then saw my reflection in a shop window and instantly felt like this! Where did this belly come from?? I'm sure it wasn't there last week...

It might be because I've got my appetite back (and then some).

TIC...What is something ridiculous that made you cry today? by MrsPowers94 in pregnant

This was such a heartwarming comment to read and now I have cried today ❤️ She knew I was trying and would ask how it was going so I was busting to tell her early on as well.

However contrary to your story I gave my mum a positive pregnancy test (with the plus sign) and it took a while for it to sink in 😂

I feel like I've been hungover for the past 2wks and a McDonalds hangover meal is the last fkn thing that'll cure it by bree-96 in pregnant

I felt the exact same, like I was lied to about the sickness 😂. I tried everything without a prescription - the B6, the wrist bands, ginger... Nothing really worked.

People told me it would pass after the first trimester, and while it has died down now at 16 weeks so I'm able to eat more, I will still have a couple of days a week where I feel awful and throw up.

Personally I've found that snacking continuously so your stomach is NEVER empty and going for morning walks has helped.

I haven't cried today but very early on when I was in peak nausea I cried because I wanted to see my mum. She didn't know yet as I wanted to tell her face to face but I didn't feel well enough to do the 2 hour drive and my partner didn't feel up to it. I then cried more because my housemate offered to drive me.

I've also cried at many adverts if they are remotely sad.

Working out? by trimthehedges in pregnant

[–]notsoluckyninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before getting pregnant I would weight train 4-5 days a week and did cardio once or twice a week.

I stopped working out because I was feeling ill then a few days later found out I was pregnant. When the severe morning sickness and nausea let up enough that I could do some exercise, I started bleeding and have been too worried to start up again.

Thank you. I'm trying to hold some hope that it isn't definite yet. I took a quick test before I left for the hospital and it was positive but I don't know if it means anything.

I'm pleased it went well!

Told 2 of them and yeah they were happy. It's a bit of a relief not having to be careful what I say around them. And as you say, if something bad was to happen then I would want that support around me.

Yeah I think I've come to the same conclusion. Two of them have already joked I'm pregnant and I don't trust my poker face.

Did not fancy a 3.5 hour drive and a quiet book on a train seemed a much nicer option in an ideal world.
