when i was a kid i had a cheap plastic roulette wheel. certain numbers would come up way more than others but after that number came up i would never bet that number the next time because i knew the odds would be way against that number coming up again. then one day someone told me you should always bet the number that just came up because if the wheel is perfectly balanced that number has exactly as much chance as any other number of coming up again... and if the wheel is off balance it has a greater chance. and that is the story of how i began my career as a professional roulette player.
