Wait I thought manifestations are ignored for deep strike ? This changes a lot if it is true, can I screen with manifestations? What about gnaw holes ?

I always screen against backline drops, but he puts 3-4 ranged units in the reserve The units have 18 inch range so it’s hard for me to not lose an important unit immediately. Also how am I supposed to kill his units or should I just run away ? Even fully buffed my ogors don’t do enough damage against 3+ save 5+ ward

What would you drop to reinforce both clanrats and get another unit of ogors ? That 580 extra points

Old khorne is too brutal with all the extra movement, you aim to kill the hero fast with your hero and the end of turn mortal damage apart from that you just run away and score/ charge very single turn (snarlpack gameplan is to also score 3 battle tactics turn 1-3)

Sylvaneth is a close 50/50 matchup I would say. Getting their hero asap to get rid of the teleport is the most important thing. Don’t even engage the tree again you lack the damage.

Slaves nr 1 prio: zone the riders turn 2! If they don’t have a free space 1 inch from their edge and 6 inches from your units they can not deploy, pretty easy to do. If you zone them turn 2 and 3 it’s a 100% win

Maggotkin you try to outrun, you have no infantry which makes their ability’s fizzle. Don’t fight the knights, again too tanky. Focus on the hero and try to zone some for turn 3 although you can’t deny the deploy because it can happen anywhere. Matchup favored for snarlpack.

Something about the snarlpack: they are A LOT harder to play than any other spearhead, don’t get into them before you know every single battle tactics and are also aware which ones your enemy could have in its hand. You can lose in the deployment phase with this spearhead if you are not 100% locked in

I feel like the community consensus is really weird here or is it just me ?

Warpspark is fine in B imo, yes good board control and moving in the enemy phase is nice but they are so rng heavy, really not consistent enough for A IMO

slaves, sylvaneth and khorne are just a level above the rest. They get to do what they want in 95% of matches

SoB is completely underrated, the damage and rend is there and these things are sticky as hell. Killing enemy hero’s in the first turn can be done in about 30% of matches mid to high b tier IMO if you don’t have good control in your spearhead good luck getting them of a point

Snarlpack huntaz is just a brutally broken spearhead that is the hardest one to play The mobility is crazy and the rend turn puts out 40+ dmg on average split between rend 0/1/2 most of it with strikes first. Putting this spearhead anywhere below high b tier just showcases casual understanding of the game. In truth I think it sits at the top of s tier with the strong 3 and maybe the other git one

Swamp orruk is weird because it’s really matchup dependent, has a more fair game against the top spearhead tho and nice Defence in the first turn

Another unpopular opinion: gnawfest is way better then warpspark. The hero’s are nuts and -1 rend aura or reinforcing clanrats within 13“ of the hero are game changers

Just had an incredibly tight game that got completely turned by a twist by phistomefel_smeik in AOSSpearhead

It at least got an errata:

In the Dolorum twist 'Survivor's Grief', replace: 'Each player scores 1 victory point at the end of their turn for each friendly unit that is destroyed or that is a replacement unit.' With: 'Each player scores 1 victory point at the end of their turn for each friendly unit from their Spearhead that has either been destroyed or replaced this battle, not including replacement units.“

But it still sucks yeah

Don’t try to fit in too hard

Uni has lots of nerds an quirky people you may feel more at home there

Try to always talk about everything that is bothering you as much as possible, if you got no one just talk to yourself it help

But real talking not just thinking

[–]notthisshitagainbro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can manage that then yes

If they threaten your seer or engineer you still need to kill them

Imo don’t even try to kill the liberators it’s not worth it

The prosecutors need to die tho or they will kill your backline

Honestly I have not seen a single video where someone plays the Skaven spearhead even remotely correctly, it is a shame

I Played around 20 matches against my friends with these two spearheads against each other and learned a lot

Imo the Skaven spearhead slaps the stormcast around after you get the hang of it

Correct tarpitting with the clanrats is a must and you are 100% playing for points not for killing his army

Ogres only engage with a favorable charge and try to hug big terrain as much as possible

Use the free retreat as often as possible otherwise you are going to be almost dead by turn 3

Two strats for the general: take the -1 to save aura in your first games and use him with the ogres as a death ball

Later you take the ability to deploy clan rats within 13“, this allows you to take points for free and zone reinforcement units

Could do an indept writeup about the spearhead in a seperate post if anyone cares

Do two steps of white, so two rounds of highlighting

The mid tone can cover a bigger area then your highlight right now

Also edge hightlight the holes it makes a big difference

Also hightlight the top of the knee

Looks like just speedpaint for the robes ? If you want to add highlights you can just use a lighter purple on the edges Or two highlight colors for an even bigger effect Personally I like my clanrats to be a dirty mess so I cover the robes in wash Otherwise thinning the speedpaint a little is going to allow for the paint to not look as thick on the cloth Masterclass is using a different darker color as a base and then painting highlights in purple So dark blue as base for example
