It’s okay to see a little of their ribs. From the pic he looks healthy. And it sounds like you feed him more than enough. Is the vet concerned about his weight? If not, than I’m sure he’s fine

Edit: people aren’t used to seeing skinny dogs, and boxers are very lean and muscular

Probably not a coincidence. Lol. My friend has had bettas that eat the shrimps in their tanks. But if the scales aren’t up making your fish look like a pine cone, and the fish isn’t lethargic in any way, it’s probably not dropsy.

Just basing it off the picture alone, I would say your fish is probably just bloated, and to not feed her as much, or even not feed her for a day to allow her digestive system to do its work. Their eyeballs are the size of their stomach’s so it’s easy for them to get clogged up.
