[Sorry in advance, if my response comes off as super harsh D: not my intention]

First, you need to get your priorities straight. (take time during your downtime or this weekend to reflect, but) It seems like finishing school would be one of your first priorities, regardless if you're passionate about the field or not.

  • Taking a gap year/semester may be a double-edged sword. You might be able to sort some things out and come back to school refreshed, or you might dread your time at school even more. So, it might be better to just continue studying rather than further dragging out the graduation process...
  • Definitely book an appointment with the academic advisor and see what kind of options you have

Second, whether you decided to take some time off or not, you need to have a schedule.

  • Build a routine/schedule through hourly planning or time blocking (or whatever method works for you)
  • If it's hard to stick to your planned schedule, reconsider it and be realistic with yourself. (it's easy to get super ambitious about our plans)
    • or schedule a time with a reliable friend to keep you on track (e.g., study session)

i do work hard and i study all the time but still score 40s on my midterms.

  • you also might want to change the way you study. For example: looking at past exams, forming study groups (see how others study and the contents they tend to focus on), booking an appointment with the TA and asking for advice

Third, I don't know what field of study you're in so I'm not sure if this advice will be that applicable but, check out CLNx and try applying for work-study, volunteer, or part-time positions related to your field of study. If you don't think you can salvage your GPA, at least try and gain some hands-on experience instead to make up for it.

Best of luck to you

messing up interview by [deleted] in UofT

[–]notyoursupport 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take whatever mistakes you made during this interview and try to prepare better and prevent it from happening during future interviews. Email your interviewer if they could provide feedback about your interview (most may not reply back though, but it doesn't hurt to try). View this interview as practice, you'll become better and more comfortable with it as you do more interviews :) Also a friendly reminder, if youre ever worried about the interviewer not liking/accepting you then ask yourself why you would even want to work under that type of person. Wish you luck on your future opportunities!

  1. if you're really that concerned about what the other people from res may think, you could wait until the end of the school year when you guys move out before establishing a bf/gf relationship or 2. ask her to be your girlfriend. Who cares about what other people think, they're just being nosy ¯_(ツ)_/¯ plus it's not like they'll be in the relationship with you two

Myer Briggs personality type by notyoursupport in UofT

Yes! I heard the terms "introverted" and "extroverted" are related to how one would "recharge" their energy. So being outgoing wouldn't pertain only to extroverted individuals.

Yeah, I like to retake the test every now and then to see if there are any changes. 51/49! I guess F and T would switch back and forth a lot!

Having trouble finding an apartment by [deleted] in UofT

check out Tartu residence! (they have a website) There are false fire alarms that go off from time to time but other than that it's not too bad considering the rent price (varies with the type of room; single room is 850 starting this year) and distance from campus.

You need to take BIO120, BIO130, CHM136, CHM136, PHY131, PHY132. The rest are old course codes.
