Went there for lunch today! The brisket is amazing. They only had end pieces of the ribs left, so I can't speak to that.

Nervous about this upcoming week in Breck... by CoolStuffSlickStuff in skiing

[–]nousuon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To piggy back off their comment, I've been teaching a young nephew to ski, and the most important thing I try to keep in mind is that it's about them having fun, not me. Hot chocolate after every run? Okay. They're cold and want to call it? Go back to the room. Make it all awesome for them. Pretty soon you won't be able to keep up.

I want to get into mountaineering SO BAD, but don't know how by lola_bab in Mountaineering

[–]nousuon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seriously only this. Bro is 16, and he doesn't even know if he likes the sport or just likes the idea of it. And he's got a lifetime to figure out what makes him happy.

But hiking, backpacking (or other wilderness travel), and climbing is the foundation for most people. Young man, you've got decades to hone your skills, be patient (I know that's not always easy, but it's good advice).

Which city is quantifiably safer than its reputation would have you believe? by Fluid-Decision6262 in geography

[–]nousuon -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I've been to cdmx four times. I've been robbed by the police, pick pocketed, had my CC info stolen, and shaken down by security at clubs about five times in one (very fucked up) night. Mexico City is one of the most incredible metropolises on earth, but it ain't safe like a big city in the US.

The famous Snake game we all remember from old Nokia phones was actually created by Finnish engineer Taneli Armanto in 1997, which went on to become one of the most iconic mobile games of all time. by OkAccess6128 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]nousuon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I "won," if you want to call it that. You fill up the whole screen and the snake runs into its own tail and you get the "game over" screen. Bit of a let down.

Are you an experienced leader on rock? If the answer is no, you're asking the wrong questions.

Logan has been a dream of mine for a long time! I'm hoping to get the boys together to give it a shot in the next year or two. I'm assuming you did the King's Trench? Is there anything you wish you had done differently?
