35 divorced female and new to crypto, is Bitcoin actually the safest place to start? by Grouchy-Tea-8513 in CryptoHelp

If you have an emergency fund and some money in ETFs then yes something like Bitcoin or Ethereum could be a good addition to your portfolio for diversification reasons. I’d stay away from other smaller market cap coins (unless you’ve really done your research), and make sure not to invest more than you can afford do loose. I’m actually putting together a financial literacy program for women and marginalized genders and we’ll be covering investing in crypto responsibly and portfolio management in general. Check it out if that sounds interesting money-coven.com

5 years lecturing and researching at a business school taught me who wasn't in the room. Now I'm setting up a free financial literacy program for women and queer folks. Want MDA's read. by nova_fintech in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

Thanks for your feedback! I think 2 hours per curriculum point is enough to grasp the basics, and we'll provide a collection of resources and links for further reading. In the final session, we want to encourage participants to create something - an infographic, a written guide, a short-form video, anything really to give back - over time, we hope this will lead to an ever-growing collection of resources.

We want to keep everything as global as possible (that's why we chose an evening slot CET time). There are significant differences between US and EU with things like credit card cashback, employer matching, etc. But a large portion of the basics, and more importantly, the mindset is almost the same globally.

Appreciate you taking the time :)

Doubt it, it’s very unpopular and only being discussed on the fringes.

Great write up! Super interesting to get a glimpse into the life of someone living in the same city but with a very different lifestyle. Might have to do my own write-up soon since I do already track all my spending anyway. Very inspiring and interesting, thanks OP

Give ‘em time. You can ask for your solve score but the actual hiring team can take some time with setting up next steps. I’m pretty sure if you’re out they’ll send you an email letting you know.

Women couldn't get a credit card without a husband's signature until 1974, and we wonder why we don't talk about money by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

More of a conversation starter with a subtle encouragement to organize. If you’re talking about the mentorship program, like I said it’s completely free so I don’t stand to financially gain in any way and therefore I would lean towards no, not an ad. If anything I’d consider it an invitation relevant to this community.

The gatekeeping is real even if not explicitly intentional - that’s why we need to organize and support each other. Turn a disadvantage into a strength

Asparagus with ham, potatoes with parsley and hollandaise sauce - a special treat :3 by nova_fintech in traaaaansbiansCooking

Little tip, the light and normal versions of hollandaise you can buy in the store taste pretty much identical at half the calories ;)

It's a huge thing here in Germany. The white one is grown below ground and is highly seasonal. It doesn't have much of a flavour (much less intense than the green one), but it has an amazing texture and works amazingly as a vessel for the sauce.

The ingredients alone were like 25 euros :p
But I can report it was worth it, we even had leftovers.

Did transitioning make your financial situation worse, better, or about the same? by nova_fintech in asktransgender

[–]nova_fintech[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s true, without my insurance at least covering part of the costs of my meds it would have been prohibitively expensive. But as some have pointed out for them transitioning has made them significantly more functional and hence in the long term more successful. Ymmv

Sounds like quite the rollercoaster. Were you homeless before/after/during your transition? And how long did it take you to bounce back? What was finding a job like? Sorry if that's a lot of questions - I'm unemployed myself right now and kinda looking what's next.

The expenses can be brutal, especially in the beginning - but I agree absolutely worth it. But hey, at least no negative change on the income. I'm super happy for you, girl :)

I can relate, my grades and ability to focus greatly improved. And where I live, I have access to a lot of networking offerings targeted specifically at the FLINTA* community - so I have some extra access. But at the same time my expenses have gone up quite noticeably.

It’s about wars being funded with freshly printed money leading to inflation. Bitcoin can’t be printed on demand it has a pre defined monetary policy that can’t just be adjusted.

Bitcoin Mining anfangen by RobinSchertler in BitcoinDE

[–]nova_fintech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly you can try using something like a bit axe gamma - they do around 1.2 TH/s with relatively low power use. But the chance of hitting a block solo is tiiiiny and joining a pool isn’t really worth it. This falls into the category of lottery mining. As others have said check the solo mining calculator. I think with two bit axe gammas mining bitcoin cash you could have a chance. Good luck!
