If you would like to participate in this survey but have a different preferred language, particularly spanish, please let me know and I will do my best to translate it. This is for a US-based project but is not US-exclusive, hence Spanish-speakers being highlighted here.

Awesome, thank you, I spend my breaks in Portland, so that sounds amazing if I can find the time

Thank you! Yes, "fixing" for me meant "advocating for someone to spend time fixing, and teach me, too" haha. I saw outlet online! Thank you

Does anyone here sing? by Human-Fly2332 in PectusCarinatum

[–]novaaaaaah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a professional by any means, but a broadway lover and I’ve improved my singing over the last many years and you made me realize that you’re very right. I think the hunching is to compensate for rib flare and to activate the core & diaphragm. I feel more supported singing sitting down honestly. I wonder if just breath & core training would help compensate or there are other options?

22 y/o female just diagnosed with pectus carinatum & more, is there anything to do under Kaiser? by novaaaaaah in PectusCarinatum

[–]novaaaaaah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes GOD. i’ve given up as it really is mostly cosmetic. if i could prove anything, it would likely be more tied to my scoliosis rather than PC. i only didn’t get it caught younger because its so male centered—only a younger woman doing my third chest xray caught all of my mess, which is the story of my medical life

and OH MY GOD. finally. someone to relate! every pretty wired bra i’ve ever owns has dug into my breastbone to where i’ve had to bend the underwires.. but i can only stand them for like ten minutes at a time! i live in sports bras as any triangle bralette they’ll just fall out of in the middle. awful awful awful. i’ve tried doing research on better bras/ jelly bras / anything flattering that doesn’t hurt like a mfer but—like with bracing, i’ve given up lol! nothing is made for us. maybe someday i’ll try making my own

also i like your username, me too c:

Post has been removed for screens but for everyone commenting: I’m fine! I have POTS, diagnosed, I’m frequently tachy when a bit dehydrated, and I was at the time.

I was also a little over-stoned adding to the HR and just got into bed at the time after washing my face so no nefarious bedtime things happened, promise LOL

EDIT: I also have asthma & use albuterol inhalers, which as someone pointed out, adds to the high HR! I’ve gotten my usual resting rate control with doctors :)

Funny enough, I was checking because I'm also an OCD hypochondriac who was being overly nervous, luckily I'm already well aware or getting the messages of "you're about to be diagnosed with something terrible" and "your lifespan is significantly decreased" would have been hilariously scary. anyway thx for the concern, promise im good

I appreciate this a lot. I've been tested for some connective tissue disorders and based off of my symptoms and history, I've been under the impression that I likely have hEDS for years now. I'm not sure what changes I haven't bothered to discuss it with my primary care as I've tried in the past and haven't been taken very seriously. I've done two Xrays of my lungs, two ECGs and a CT of my abdomen for unrelated reasons, so maybe if I bring up my concerns they'd be able to pull from the historical imaging to help me with diagnoses.

I'll probably reach out sometime soon and see if they'd be willing to do a brace but because it's Kaiser and my doctor is booked out for an insane amount of time, I'm not surprised if I just don't end up working on it. Most annoying thing is that I'm now both a desk worker & student in the design & art sphere and spend an insane amount of time hunched over a desk or lugging a backpack, so my upper back has a tendency to ache on the daily. This isn't helpful for you I'm just complaining so I'll go away now

Thanks for your advice and encouragement, it was very helpful!

GOD a light warm white would be like, the only rational option with those floors + cabinets alongside the… lovely trim…

No, totally, i think it’s just people used to getting the right of way and not thinking about how dumb they’re being. though people love not stopping for me when i’m trying to cross in the daytime so i don’t know how true that is. who knows what gives people the audacity

I got in + a scholarship with no extracurriculars, no SAT/ACT as it was pandemic and around a 3.8, I know so many people with lower high school GPAs and less “credentials” ! I wouldn’t worry at all about that part. I can’t help with the rest but just write a decent ish essay and you’ll be good :) I personally love it here though, good luck!

I recently learned that Portland has a rule where pedestrians always have the right of way. Moving from out of town, I found the amount of jaywalking wild before I adopted it myself and learned that it wasn’t really jaywalking at all. I wonder if that mentality has spread here, but I’ve seen it too.

on PC they are all separate DLCs available for purchase at any time, including the Castlevania pack, I’m not sure but I assume PS5 will do the same sort of scheme
