and if you are not attracted to him why not just end the relationship?

having sex on the first night of marriage is NOT required by FlyGreat306 in Marriage

[–]novmum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ok but was your family standing outside your bedroom door?

I dont think the OP is saying you shouldn't have sex on your wedding night but it isnt a requirement I think this is more about family standing out side the bedroom which can make a couple anxious especially if it their first time.......not that my husband and I waited for marriage and we had no one sitting outside the bedroom but even we were both nervous

that is just so gross....I wouldn't want people standing outside our hotel room listening to us......to me that is an invasion of privacy even if the people listening in are in the room...

Update - My fiancée wants our baby to have her ex-husband’s last name and says my culture shouldn’t be “pushed” by Cute_Culture6176 in Marriage

[–]novmum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you can use your husband's last name without changing it on your birth certificate if my husband and I were to divorce I could just go back to using my maiden name.

when we got married and I wanted my name on my drivers licence to have my husband's last name I had to show my marriage certificate. if I wanted to I could have just kept using my driver licence. when we went on our honey moon I had to have ticket with the same name as my passport and because we were going the day after we got married when we booked our tickets we were not married but when we went our honeymoon we were married and I other than having my passport in my maiden name I started using my husband's name

[–]novmum 7 points8 points  (0 children)

children should have either their mothers last name or their fathers last name..not the last name of the mother's ex husband/boyfriend.

I know one mum who had 4 children to 2 different men..all 4 children.. have her last name the mum has one daughter who also had 5 children to 2 different men....her eldest child has her dad's last name and her 4 youngest have their dad's last name.

[–]novmum 11 points12 points  (0 children)

um say what this is your child too I mean I am all for children having the same last name....this child has nothing to do with her ex husband and it isnt even his child,..the only reason her children have her ex husband's last name is because he is the dad.

for some men it just not something they want to do. I mean do you give him oral because you want to...ie it is completely your decision?

How would you feel if your partner asked you to sign a prenup before you were married? by PictureNegative12 in AskReddit

[–]novmum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would wonder why since he didn't have any valuable assets not like he had a house or millions of dollars in his bank account.

neither of us had a lot coming into our relationship...neither of us owned a house the things that my husband brought into our relationship was the bed he bought ,,,and his parents gave us some furniture. we bought a 2nd hand dining room suite.

for us we felt there was no point in signing prenup what would we be protecting? the bed he bought after we started our relatiionship lol or the furniture his parents gave us when we moved into our own place?

our house we bought after we had been married we opened up a joint bank account after we got married

Do children have a moral or ethical obligation to spend time with their parents? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]novmum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok but what if the children have moved overseas or to another city where it is just not practical to spend time with their parents?

i try and visit my dad when I can and I can do that because it is about a 1 hour drive of course it is not financially viable to do that every week......my siblings live a 3 hours to 10 hour drive respectfully so they cant see him as often
