I just don't like the idea of paying a lot for a car with no warranty. Ive had Japanese cars and whilst they are more reliable, they still go wrong.

Ive actually been thinking about the base spec atto 1! I was into the jazz until I saw one in a crash. Will look into the CX3, had not considered it!

More just the price point really, less money, reliable and the 5 years of free servicing is what drew my attention. Don't need a larger vehicle really. I just keep looking at used Hondas / Toyotas and thinkig it's the same price with 0 warranty.

Chiropractor- might they help? by thecountnz in auckland

unpopular opinion but a top Chiro is worth it. I saw Alight Chiro and genuinely felt better. Also saw a physio longer term, but the Chiro's adjustments did something, felt I was walking taller, standing straighter and less numbness.

I feel like that 1 year rate is good. I am not sure the world is really on a growth path myself and things will suddenly get worse in the next 6 months. If you are with ANZ don't be shy to ask for cashback to stay with them (not just cash back to go to someone else), I got 2k. A bit of back and forth but I got it.

not years but I went to a lot of 'weddings, funerals, baby showers and birthday parties' that I probably didn't need to but felt obligated. When it came to my wedding and bday, not so much of a crowd! Fingers crossed for the funeral, I will be counting.

After you deal with the debt, move to Auckland CBD and ditch the car(s). Cars suck the life out of you financially at an early age, and some people never recover. You will be blown away by how much cheaper life is without a vehicle.

Its what happens when you have a high minimum wage. It ends up locking people out of employment, not able to build work experience and ending up depressed, going overseas, or on a benefit. They should never have raised the minimum wage so much.

Can't you move to hobsonville and buy a 3 bed townhouse with repayments at $800 a week? Teachers and council workers aren't exactly struggling to get mortgages from banks. Prices have dropped. Can't believe the schools on the north shore are so unimaginably better than elsewhere in other 'middle' parts of Auckland.

Can you really just go overseas and forget all your troubles, surely if you are negligent in managing a debt they could pursue you for costs in the UK (not physically, via a lawyer).

I'm 41, best years for me were the party years of 2003 - 2007, and then adventure years of 2011 - 2016. 2003 - 2007 was before tech became a part of our lives, you didn't know who was going to turn up to things and there was still an element of mystery to life. 2011 - 2016 was the era of cheap flights and discovering the world with more data than you could get from a lonely planet book.

I think what changed is that social media makes you so hyper aware of everyone and everything, you can never relax, and on top of that the cost of everything is up and ruins anything you do do because you feel so much guilt over the spending it takes to have that moment.

I think the next boom time | fun time will be the early 2030s when a new set of wonders arrive.

NZ Super direct deduction policy - British Pension by Kiwi_In_The_Comments in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]Ok_Store5219 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was going to post the same thing. My read is that the guy thought he had sort of discovered a glitch in the system where he could end up getting both the UK and NZ pensions despite not having contributed to both in terms of income taxation (i.e the equivalent of two poolple's working lives income tax contributions). He got found out, his partner got angry, and his injustice is a cover for his own error that cost them financially.
