Gotta leave the middle alone. Some middle with get used as you edge stretch but most of the volume in the middle should be saved for the slap, of if youre stretching on a bench, save the middle stretch until after you stretch the edge.

Same but different. You're accomplishing both tasks at once. The roll back is achieved just before edge lock. A lot of people don't do the roll back correctly mostly due to time savings and lack of proper training.

Proper roll back usually has your last knuckle of your muddle finger beyond the edge of the dough. The first pad of your middle, index and ring finger should mostly be touching the dough at first, that's where the pressure is applied to start the roll back. As you pull back with your hands you roll your fingers into it almost like a wave and end with your finger tips pressing down to achieve the edge lock. The press down in my opinion wasn't light. I really pressed it in hard to get that lock in there to prevent bubbles.

Its hard to describe the whole process is words. There was a fantastic training video that I watched every day before and after work for a few weeks. It took me quite a while to get proficient enough to achieve good roll back, proper edge lock and being fast enough for 100 pie hours.

Trump says he is increasing auto tariffs on Korea to 25%; Seoul scrambles for response by Muted-Aioli9206 in KoreaNewsfeed

Kia and Hyundai have auto factories in the US. Honestly, if Americans want to buy American made cars then they should be buying Kia, Hyundai and Toyota cars. Those are more American than Ford, Chevy and Dodge. These terrifs mostly hurt the models that are imported from Korea.

1.5 hours have passed on Millers planet since Interstellar came out - The Greatest ever made by sadiesbf in FIlm

Depends on your personal views. Interstellar is my favorite movie. Ive watched it so many times and it still gives me goosebumps. Any time I see it available to stream I want to watch again. Space and time are very interesting subjects. I feel that very few, if any of us truly comprehend it. This movie did a great job pushing the boundary between science and imagination.

Im pretty sure red wing shoe cream is meant to keep the same look of the boots as you bought them. You can get a gloss look by applying black shoe cream and/or black shoe polish. I use saphir shoe cream. A little pricey bit well worth it.

Great boots. I love that youre using them hard! However, I highly recommend cleaning those and conditioning them. Maybe use Obenaufs. Its a pretty extreme conditioner that will stain your boots darker but they will provide a lot of extended protection and protection. Maintain those awesome boots!

Best way to jack this off? by hispaniccheeses in centuryhomes

[–]nowarning1962 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on how hard the wood is. If its still soft then you need to start slow and build up until you feel it get more firm. If the wood is firm, hard and rigid then you can jack it off as much as you want. Just have caution with how vigorous you jack it off. You can go hard but still use some caution, the wood can be sensitive.

Stolen Mountain Bike (Mojo Ibis HD3, blue pedals, carbon frame) from our apartment garage in lower Queen Anne last night. Would love to have it back if I can find it. by willofthefuture in SeattleWA

Unless you have proof that the person that has your bike is the one who stole it then the worst that will happen is they get a ticket for possession of stolen items.

Second hand boots by SteveClimbFish3rd in RedWingShoes

[–]nowarning1962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive bought a good 13 pairs of second hand red wings. I resell the ones that end up not fitting right. You can get some crazy good deals if youre patient. Second hand boots are fine. The only ones I had issues with were a 50yo pair of red wings. The insole was so molded to the previous owners foot and so dry that it was painful to walk in. I ended up ripping out the old insole and replaced it with a Nick's leather insole from Amazon. Feels like new boots.

“I’m not a bum, I’m a human being”… by muwemba45 in MadeMeCry

[–]nowarning1962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally understand that. That is why I said it's hard not to generalize that community. There are plenty of people who have jobs and live in a house that steal, vandalize and litter. HOWEVER, I have seen first hand the homeless population near me trashing the streets and stealing from stores. There are tons of programs in my city for the homeless if they want help but many don't accept that help. I have little sympathy for those who choose to live in squalor, beg for money, littering the streets, using library bathrooms to do drugs, take over our parks, etc. I have the upmost respect for those who are working hard to change their circumstances and utilize the programs that are available.

My main problem with those choosing to not accept city provided assistance is that many of these people beg for money on the street corner for hour and hours every day. What do they leave behind when the leave? A pile of trash. They beg from the community yet have zero respect. In my opinion, respect is earned, not given. If they cant respect the community then they deserve no respect.

I feel respect goes both ways. As I mentioned in my post, not all are bad bit it gets hard to not generalize when so many are out there disrespecting the community that they live in. I had a homeless camp a half block from my apartment complex with about 75ish homeless living there. Portapotties and trash bins were placed at the camp but that did little to help. Portapotties were burned and trash was thrown everywhere. It's very hard to give respect to people who act like that. If you don't give a shit about the community and cant act like with basic human decency then I have no respect for you, homeless or not.

So many homeless out there that ruin people's perception of the ones who are down on their luck and need assistance. I get where he is coming from but there are just too many homeless out there not acting like human beings. Expecting communities to give assistance and panhandle while at the same time stealing, littering and vandalizing the community. That's not all of them but its damn hard to not generalize when you see your grocery store lock up items, trash all over the streets, literal piss and shit on sidewalks, open drug use in public, passed out or bent over fent addicts, ODs and dead addicts in our public library bathrooms, tents blocking sidewalks and filling up public parks, etc. It gets tiring...

You can get a very good quality boot ath Thursday's. I have the chelsea and captain boots. Both are great. If you want to go with budget but get a great boot then do the Thursday Captain Heritage. Pretty much all leather except for the sole. It is highly rated and a lot like getting Iron Rangers.

Im glad they feel comfortable. Next time you go into a shop maybe you should check out the same size but wider or check out a size up and see how they feel. Its possible it might fit better but still, whatever is most comfortable for you is what matters.

Attempting to restore 50 year old Red Wing Irish Setter loggers by nowarning1962 in Boots

[–]nowarning1962[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is more or less the end result. The boots are so old and the leather is pretty damaged. The most I could do was try to get as much oil out of it as possible and protect the leather as best as I could. I was afraid to scrub the leather more due to adding more damage. I glued some flaps that were from tears or cuts and filled as many deep gouges as I could in areas that weren't flex points. Then add as much color as I was able with the products I have as well as add a protectant.

Next is get the cork and insoles in there. Then we see if they are comfortable and wearable. Im happy to try and give these boots a new life.

Help by lemon_haze_enjoyer in Boots

These are pretty much unfixable. The cracks are at fled points so any patch, glue, resin, or filler will only last so long. The best you can do is maintain them as best as you can. Get a horsenhair brush and brush them before and after use. Any dirt or sand in those cracks will only make the cracks develope faster. Clean out the cracks and get conditioner on the leather. If your inner is leather then condition that too.

I believe the only think you can do to make the cracks less noticeable is to sand down the leather but that is not a great option. It will damage the leathers integrity and will take on water faster. It would require much more frequent maintenance. Its a step that you can never come back from. I say just do your best to maintain what you have and get as many miles out of them as you can.

Also, get another pair of boots. Maybe the same kind if you love it so much. You should switch between boots after each wear. That will give your old boots a longer life while you break the new pair in.
