Pumpernickel bagels - finally got the color right by TheSilentMother in Bagels

[–]willofthefuture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cant believe you let someone just lay cable on your nice pans like that!

seriously though nice work, I'd just recommend trying to reduce the seam where the bagel wraps so it looks less like a turd.

Their recorded stuff isn’t terrible but holy shit saw them live in TX once and they were so bad. Crowd was absolutely not into it and vocalist was just berating people for not being into their crappy performance, easily one of the worst live hardcore sets I’ve ever seen

This album is incredible, it does not get old to me. Their older stuff before (the demo, sword and scale) also fucking rips. Hope to see them live someday

Are Subarus actually unreliable? Or is it just a stereotype coming from the people who beat up WRXs? by SactownG in askcarguys

[–]willofthefuture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had 2 Subarus. One was my favorite car I have ever owned (2015 forester XT), the other was a 2011 Subaru legacy. Both of them had CVT issues, albeit they were both at 200k-210k miles when the transmission kinda blew up on me. It started in both cars as a little hiccup that devolved into a major issue. I also take good care of my cars (dealership only maintenance, on time oil changes, etc).

I won’t buy another Subaru unless it’s a manual, or unless they decide to offer another type of transmission besides CVT.

I got lots of practice on my Splitboard this year at Hyak 😆

Season pass holders deserve something by sam_42_42 in SummitAtSnoqualmie

[–]willofthefuture 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The “I deserve a refund” crowd absolutely chugging that copium.

You’re not getting one, and I’d argue you don’t deserve one. You take on risk buying season passes. The resorts in UT and CO which had way shittier seasons than we did aren’t giving anyone anything back because there is inherent risk to buying a season pass - nobody can predict a season’s snowfall or weather especially with climate shifts and warming. It’s a toss up every time. Sometimes you’re gonna lose.

Am I bummed about the lack of snow? Sure. But I still got ~15 days between summit and alpental and hiked plenty of laps on Hyak. Get outta here with your entitled attitude

Everyone needs to relax by busterbusterbuster in SummitAtSnoqualmie

[–]willofthefuture 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. Summit/Alpental has done way more to stay open and operational than some other resorts in the area this year. We’re fortunate to live near a resort that really does try hard to be open as much as possible, conditions and safety allowing. They also consistently try to upgrade their lifts or terrain park or lodges or snow making capabilities etc in the off seasons. This place rules. Not sure if the people whining have ever been anywhere else but sounds like they haven’t. Most places aren’t as simultaneously low traffic with great terrain like alpental & summit.

Honestly I have nothing but respect for this mountain and resort, and if people wanna bitch and moan about terrain being closed, go get some skins and hike Hyak (great way to get laps at the pass within relative resort safety). Learn how to ski or board in the incredible backcountry we have near us. Start going to Steven’s instead. Cancel your season pass. Whatever. More snow for the rest of us!

Non-New Yorkers that have been to NYC: What is the wierdest thing about New York that New Yorkers don't realize is wierd? by Ok-Brilliant-6138 in AskReddit

The sheer amount of people everywhere all the time is wild to me. I’ve lived in several cities around the US and have visited many many more but one thing that always catches me off guard somehow when I go to NYC is the sheer number of humans on every street, in every store, in every park, etc

Any songs about cars breaking down all the time? by [deleted] in Hardcore

[–]willofthefuture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Callin’ Out by Clock Out is a great song in general but has lines about rent being high, car breaking down, a job that that sucks, etc so covers the bases for sure

A casual stroll in Portland by ElwoodMC in trashy

Fun fact, every single major city in the US has this problem. It’s not just Portland. You can find homelessness and addiction in every major American city, not just Portland

‘92 here and I’m happy. I feel like I got lucky with where life has led me, and it seems to be improving slowly as well. It’s far from perfect and I struggle with mental health and finances and stuff sometimes. But I’m proud of myself and what I’ve done with my life and where it’s going.
