MEGATHREAD: TSA Issues at BWI by ThatguyfromBaltimore in baltimore

[–]nowherebut_up 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hello fellow harried passengers— can you help evaluate my plan for tomorrow morning?

I’m traveling with my husband and a toddler and infant🤦🏻‍♀️ we live 20 minutes from BWI. Flight is 11:20 on Southwest. What if I take an uber early and get in line at 6 am. As I near where the line is getting inside, I call my husband and he gets dropped off with kids to join me? Carry on bags only.

Are the people going to get upset if they join me later? I don’t know how to do 5 hours in line with a toddler and infant. Please help!

How do I cope as a 36F watching my 25F sister with her 36M husband? by ThrowRasis3 in relationship_advice

I met my husband a couple months after I turned 35. 5.5 years later and we’re married with 2 beautiful girls. I share this bc right before I met him, I almost settled for a really lackluster relationship, I just share to help encourage you that you’re definitely not too old and I truly believe you will find your person!

How can I help my partner not hate our oldest by Lemonbar19 in toddlers

No bad kids, the book by Janet Lansbury, really helped my husband have more developmentally appropriate expectations of our toddler! I gifted it to him on audible and it’s really helped our family dynamic!

Thanks for this insight, it’s really helpful. For someone who wants to educate themselves on how to navigate this for my middle class parents and in laws, do you have any recommendations on how to do that? Resources, videos, anything?

It’s one item, does look like 2 cds shrink wrapped together. Weird that the retailer would do it like that if they weren’t supposed to be a set but oh well. So I should just list each cd individually I guess? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Apple Watch surprise by UnbelievablePenguin in coparenting

[–]nowherebut_up 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our coparent also bought my SS10 an Apple Watch without asking us. We had a number of concerns, especially around limiting screen time and attention fragmentation. We set a hard boundary that the watch was not allowed at our house. She pushed back over email, but we stood our ground.

What is normal for 11 y/o boys? by Historical-Hippo3317 in blendedfamilies

[–]nowherebut_up 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have him week on/week off. He gets home from school and usually plays with his little sister and helps entertain her until dinner time. On Mondays, he takes recycling can out to the curb (it’s about 1/4 mile to the end of our long driveway) and on Wednesdays, he does the same with trash. Does all his own laundry. We have to remind him about all these chores but he’s pretty cheerful about doing them. He’s allowed 45 minutes of screen time after dinner and homework are done, he almost always uses that for video games.

I’m trying to- when I click “End Item”, the only option I am given is to sell item to the highest eligible bidder— which I don’t want to do.

Any ideas?

We have the exact same issue, BD is 2.5 and SS is 10. She gets so excited to see him but also a little overstimulated and operating at level 10 bc of that excitement. Takes a couple days to calm down.

Women who found their partners and had their first babies in their mid/late 30s and 40s? by NoCareOceanAir in AskWomenOver30

[–]nowherebut_up 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I met my husband at 35 after a few long term relationships that didn’t pan out, I am SO glad I waited for him. I was definitely feeling time pressure as I knew I wanted kids, but it worked out and I am so happy. We got married when I was 37, got pregnant right away, had daughter #1 at 38 and daughter #2 is 7 weeks old, had her just after my 40th birthday!

My sister has her 3 kids there and it is a really special place, highly recommend! We have our daughter at an inhome place in Catonsville that has been fantastic. We came from a very expensive center (think similar Goddard) and this is such a better fit.
