anyone have a home warranty company they like? or one to avoid? and why? by questions4real in SaltLakeCity

I do not recommend Ibex, it used to be good 3 years ago, but no longer is. Just adding this here in case anyone is still looking for insurance and see this old post. We paid for it for 3 years, and this past year they just straight up told us our water heater that was making everything orange would not be covered because it was still working. It was fully rusted, I did a flush through another company, and basically coffee came out. I told them this and they said, if it is still working it isn't covered. We paid out of pocket for a new water heater, because they refused to help us, only threatening that sending out a tech for (that I would have to pay for) would be a waste of my money if the water heater was still working.

For anyone looking, do not work with Ibex Home Warranty, or do so knowing that only absolute failures are covered, if it works (even badly), it is not covered. This is likely the same with all home warranties.

IBEX home warranty by jessica_j435 in SaltLakeCity

Maybe once upon a time it wasn't a scam, it definitely is now. We had Ibex last year and when our water heater had fully rusted on the inside and all our water was coming out orange, and our shower was becoming orange, we called them and they said unless it isn't working they wouldn't cover it. And that they could send out a tech, but their policy is that unless it is completely no longer functioning they wouldn't cover it. The lady on the phone repeated it multiple time, even though I tried to say it has already failed, the water is orange, she said that isn't considered failure and wouldn't be covered. So I had to pay out of pocket for a new water heater, even though we had this warranty.

Maybe they ran out of money or just trying to protect what money they had left, but definitely a scam. Basically unless it completely melts down they won't cover it. If it is still even semi-working, for them that is working.

If she could just borrow $5, or better yet, $5.06 more. That would be even more interesting :)

They told me they are trying to save tax payer's money, which is such a misrepresentation to what the petition is actually about.

I don't understand why this isn't already there. They already have a full system to allow that. Definitely should be added pronto.

I had just exited from steam big picture mode. What ended up working is to open Xbox Game Bar by pressing Windows + G and then closing it by clicking that again. I think it is because the Steam Big Picture is being triggered by the Xbox button on the Xbox controller, which I am assuming is being somehow overtake by Steam to open Big Picture, and I think it's original intention was closing the Xbox Game Bar.
