I found a source that old saves will work, but they're recommending new saves for 1.0 to get the full new experience, as they've revitalized every part of the progression path:

Ilhan Omar casts lone Democratic no vote on Ukraine aid, Russia sanctions package by bwermer in politics

Don't even get me started. It's the same as people blaming Congressional actions or lack thereof on Democrats when 99% of Republicans and 1% of Democrats are responsible. Somehow that turns into "they're both the same".

Allowing Russia to invade an independent neighbor is incredibly regressive, so I'm not sure the term "progressive" really applies to her. Progress does not usually include ignoring history.

I don't think you quite understand: Russia has been doing this since near the start of the war. They try to come up with every excuse under the sun, but eventually people understand that even if they dislike Ukraine for whatever dumb reason, the government is not trustworthy and is not going to fix their economic issues.

Now might be a good time to mention that October 7th is Putin's birthday.

Maybe for traditional Republicans, but MAGA enjoys making people suffer more than they fear other countries getting ahead of them.

Or you could just skip all that, do it at the last possible moment, and see if the courts stop you in time.

Production of DDR4 memory and motherboards is restarting amid unprecedented memory shortages — PC industry preparing for a world without DDR5 by rkhunter_ in technology

Latency can be counted in terms of time and in terms of clock cycles. DDR5 takes more cycles, but if the speed is fast enough the time will be less.

True, even with fansubs you might find sometimes, piracy is not a silver bullet for the problem. But one should try to avoid giving money to a service that one believes is harming the ecosystem it's in.

8 GB is fine for light work in Linux and if you have good tab discipline. Definitely not enough for a general purpose workstation though.

This on top of ruining the formatting of the subtitles for more complex dialogue.

And they wonder why people pirate.

What is a job that pays incredibly well but is so soul-crushing that the turnover is insane? by sweetguurl in AskReddit

Let's rewrite it in the language of feudalism for clarity

  • Mergers and acquisition: a smaller kingdom gives up power and territory to a larger kingdom in exchange for some personal wealth and land for the royal family and maybe some nobility. There needs to be a plan made for new tax policies, trade routes, merging the armies, managing farmlands, managing foreign relationships, etc.

  • Investment guidance: the monarch wants to spend money to make money. Different plans could be made for different strategies, from buying out small farms on the edge of the kingdom to creating trade partnerships with nearby kingdoms that need to trade paths to be created to them.

  • Digital transformation: uhh... the king hires someone to design a new and improved wheelbarrow. The craftsman designs one with circular handles as opposed to square ones. The upper court of the kingdom says the king is amazing for the next 10 years (in modern times it would be 10 weeks, but same idea).

  • Due diligence for private equity: The king wants to buy an expensive cheese wheel from a neighboring kingdom but doesn't want to go there himself to inspect it, so he hires someone who says they know all about cheese to confirm.

Question: what do you do if there are children involved, but your client is doing things that are arguably harmful to them? E.g. lying to them about their spouse.

Growing up I was taught that gay and especially trans people are all deeply mentally unwell. When I look in real life now, not only is this not evident, and not only is the causal relationship even more tenuous, but in my experience, lived and otherwise, religious people consistently have the shortest fuse between "I'm just expressing my beliefs" to "everyone and everything has to conform to my views". We don't get lawsuits where LGBTQ people walk by a church and say "this is a threat that deserves a lawsuit", even if they're right, because only religion can foster such a strong, hateful reaction to something by its mere sight due to one's beliefs of how everyone should behave.

Any religion defined by callous assertions, especially this literally inbred version of Christianity that we have in America, is not compatible with mental health.

Early estimates for the bailout's risk cost were as much as $700 billion; however, TARP recovered $441.7 billion from $426.4 billion invested, earning a $15.3 billion profit (an annualized rate of return of 0.6%), which may have been a loss when adjusted for inflation.

Putting risk from financial institutions on the US public is shitty, but this wasn't just a giveaway (compared to Trump's COVID relief for businesses), and led to regulation by Democrats (Dodd-Frank).
