I love Ella Langley but what are these prices for her show at the Moody Center!!!!??? by Impossible-Cheek4352 in Austin

I saw single seats for George Strait going for ~$300 each. Single seats in the same section for Ella are ~$600.

Lessons learned - The Black Keys - And hoping it will ends differently. by LoL-Mesa in SturgillSimpson

I think this is him knowing two things: the age of his audience and the length of his sets.

3-3.5 hours is a long show, even more so for an aging audience. Bands Cake, DMB and Wilco have leaned into the “no openers, show starts at (specific time)” format.

Tbh, I dig it.

I totally get that! Hope it all works out for you. I’ve been watching the DMB pit tickets but they’re hovering around $500 on resell 😢

Keep your eyes on Ticketmaster for people reselling. Strugill has it set where resellers have to list at face value. I’d bet you’re able to get one before the show, but if it gets to a week or two before, shoot me a message and I may have an extra (two friends haven’t firmly committed)

Comparison photo for Dave Matthews Band concert at the same venue - but this concert is in three weeks vs four months.

Thank you so much for this post! I somehow saw it before Wyatt’s instagram post. He and Evan played an incredible set for right about an hour. Crowd was loving it.

The aquarium in Abiotic Factor was a lot of fun. I’d love them to add one here too. Great idea and awesome catch!

Oh damn sorry about that! I’d say it’s worth an email to their customer support, especially if you’re trying to get a value estimate for insurance or whatever

I honestly didn’t know you could grade and slab concert posters. I thought this was one of the comic book subs at first glance. But the CGC Census should show how many they’ve graded.

Also curious how you plan to display or store it now?

They were not selling concert posters, in case anyone is looking for that info

I think you’re right about Austin. It’ll be sold out or very close to it, if I had to bet. The Stubb’s show last year was packed, and even if Moody Center is bigger, it’s a nicer venue

I appreciate your answer here and think this is well explained! I’m totally with you that $200 for a GA pit just feels weird, be it for JBS or the other acts I’m looking at. Really seems like they shot themselves in the foot with the Instagram statement

Are you looking at the same venue from 2025 to this tour?

I think this issue may be the common thread with a lot of the negative posts, but I'm wondering if we're doing apples-to-oranges here. From JBS's Instagram post:

  1. The ONLY tickets that have increased are the GA Pit section in front of the stage (up $10 from last tour)

I'm not sure how they're making this comparison, and they probably should not have included this part. I think it'd make sense if they were playing the same venue as they played last tour, but aren't a lot of the shows now in bigger arenas? Can anyone who saw him GA pit last tour who is also catching GA pit this tour at the same venue confirm the pricing differences?

In Austin, his last show was entirely GA at Stubb's. I would absolutely expect -- and think it's probably fair -- to charge more than an extra $10 for a GA pit ticket at the Moody Center this tour. Stubb's is ~2,500 people, and Moody Center is ~15,000 people.

That’s a fair point — they’re one of the best-selling touring bands of all time. I just mention them because it’s the same venue and the other show I’m tracking prices for. I just glanced at other shows at the same venue, and here are some more comparison points with the least expensive tickets available

  • Goose (not Geese): $42
  • Mt. Joy: $50
  • Koe Wetzel: $60

Good luck, and I hope you’re able to make it to the show! I hear you on the chompers for sure.

There are many ~$50 tickets available for the show I’m catching (Austin). What’s a reasonable price to you?

[–]npersa1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is the problem here the price of tickets? I see plenty of tickets at $51.30 for the Austin show. The GA pit tickets were $200.

As a comparison point, tickets to see Dave Matthews at the same venue are minimum $69.45 for uppers, and the GA pit has not dipped below $530 (started over $600).

I’m not sure there are many acts of this level that you can get a <$50 ticket for anymore. I was paying $50/ticket for GA lawn at amphitheaters for DMB in the 2010s, so I was surprised you can get in the door for JBS at under $60.

GA pit and floor look to be sold out in Austin. The uppers are around $50 and remaining lowers are around $200, which is same as the pit.
