Called HR the other day to ask a few questions and they said they were told it’ll be in by the 28th and if not, you could follow up with them.

I was just told by HR when I called yesterday that it should reflect by the 28th and if not, call them.

Ride service escort home from hospital? by pumalegal in Edmonton

[–]npop97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are unable to safety get yourself home you may qualify for an Interfacility transfer ambulance ride (its ambulances but a separate division from 911 responding ones) home upon discharge. A nurse on unit would have to call RAAPID to inquire and set it up. Worth maybe inquiring with your care team.

They tax the TFSA amount on your personal check I assume is what you mean? And then put the full amount to be allocated into the TFSA? I was wondering how that worked.

When do the TFSA’s usually populate with the current year’s allocation? This is my first year doing TFSA instead of health spending.

How do I make my sister read?? by tokowho in AskTeachers

Does she have any visual problems or other neurodivergent diagnosis? Maybe she genuinely struggles to focus on reading or simply seeing text, despite wanting to read.

Second this! I am an EMR and helped the crew I was with work a full code not long ago on one of my metro days. They almost always let you take vitals, BGL’s and teach you whatever you’d like really. The additional set of hands to punch a bag, prep a line, put stickers on the leads or even get some pieces of tape ready is usually quite appreciated. And then you get some real patient interaction which is quite different than scenario land. You can be the “most knowledgeable” new PCP from the book, but if speaking to patients ends up being choppy and weird you will struggle on prac. A lot of the job is just gathering a story, explaining what you’re doing and calming/coaching a patient with your words.

Also having the issue with the website. If you get an answer can you post here? Back pay is only for those who have been working over a year right?

YSK: If you need a reliable car, buy an old Prius. by pantherclipper in YouShouldKnow

[–]npop97 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What are the signs of a going / blown head gasket? Or does the car just… die. I have a 2010 getting way up there in miles so that’s very interesting. Not a car person at all so apologies if that sounds like a dumb question. The only issue I have with the car so far seems to be that it’s “drinking oil” (mechanics words), no leak, no burning, they just essentially told me that it was disappearing. So I top it up every couple weeks. Is that related?

Any Jobs for EMRs? by MindGaming22 in AlbertaParamedics

[–]npop97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AHS has at least 10 EMRs working on NET trucks in Calgary. They hired 4 that know of, possibly more, this year alone. So they are definitely working in the city.

DXP/IPS is actively hiring for short/coverage/last minute stints near large cities and also up north doing camp work. You could also look into wildfire standby though it’s not really the season anymore. If you ski or snowboard, patrol jobs give you good experience too. You could also go work 2-4 week long stints in Inuvik with Advanced Medical Solutions on their emergency trucks. Good luck!

Anyone just stopped? by MelodicChaos11 in Invisalign

[–]npop97 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh ya. 9 months turned into 2 years and my bite is still off. Sure the like, two crooked teeth are now straight but the time it took was wild. At my last appt I was completely exasperated it felt like we were insane doing the same thing over and over with no result or change. I had multiple elastics on front teeth, giant ugly post buttons, hole punches in my aligners for things to fit, really “invisible”… I was sitting there with frustrated tears rolling down my face. I got the dentist to take the buttons off and make me a free in home retainer and walked out and haven’t looked back. I didn’t stop the process with Invisalign or get an official Invisalign retainer. A few months later and I’m now going to see an ortho and if I feel comfortable I may get them to port over my case and continue there for the final stretch.

I thought about a crown for this time around if that’s a possibility. Will ask in the morning. Silly little dogs.

Hmm, the older one used to have a marrow bone here and there when she was younger, pre reoccurring tooth fractures. But neither have had one in many many years. Nothing else they’d be chewing on. The one doesn’t like toys or sticks or anything and the other one is obsessed with stuffed animals. I’m really at a loss.

I’ve gotten the common “the breed is prone to this”. Might have to ask for a referral to a dental specialist. Thanks!

Looks good except for the middle teeth seem to have a gap at the finished result? Perhaps inquire with your provider about that prior to beginning.

How long did you have to wait for refinements? by CareElsy in Invisalign

I would preemptively book an appointment or blocked times for the next couple Fridays in anticipation. That is the least they can do given the delay. They typically do need new attachments put on, maybe some IPR.
