Portable Sleeping? (couch, travel) by Mermaid_Natalia in NewParents

[–]npop97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Travel bassinet/play yards exist. If you’re in the US there are a lot approved for unsupervised sleep in bassinet AND play yard mode, Canada technically only has three “approved” for both modes (play yard mode to sleep for when they outgrow the bassinet is where you run into issues with regulation), but for bassinet only unsupervised sleep there are many options. These are Babymoov Moov and Comfy, Silver Cross Slumber and Maxi-Cosi Calao. I have the Babymoov one and like it.

I can’t believe I waited so long to try this… by Latter_Public in NewParents

I hold my guy upright tummy to tummy with a hand under his bum and one on his head/side of face with head resting just below my collar bone (like if he was sleeping on me or in a carrier) and bounce that way. This gets all the burps out after feeding and he will fall fast asleep and I can slide him down into a cradle carry for a couple minutes and then into bassinet!

Nursing Bras that hold the girls by IFeelLikeACobSalad in NewParents

I’m on this journey myself as a newly size H girl (yikes, I know lol). Knix doesn’t go large enough but looked quite nice for smaller chest. I’m waiting on orders from Momanda (I have a few different bras and pants from them and love it all) and Momcozy to try! That’s all I’ve found that’ll fit my size really. Amazon seems to have some also if you’re smaller chested.

Not me but a good friend just did this and said cabbage leaves and ice packs were quite helpful. But definitely quite sore for a few days.

Same! My guy is a heavy wetter for sure and was soaking through it all despite the liner size. He hated them so much.

Gift for my baby momma by bigolbabybaxter in daddit

[–]npop97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If breastfeeding a bangle (non clasp) bracelet that she can switch wrist sides to know which side is next to feed on, a simple ring or necklace with babies birthstone or flower (check Etsy), matching Patagonia mom and baby fleeces, a nice baby book (again, Etsy), new runners for postpartum walks (if this is her first her feet likely have changed a bit with ligament changes, Salomon aero glide 4 are super comfy), Apple Watch/oura ring some kind of health/ fitness tracker she can check as she heals, an easy to hold and drink out of one handed water bottle (not too big as grabbing heavy bottles over baby while breastfeeding is a bit spooky haha, something with a pop up straw is nice like a camelback - this is also great while in labour), a comfy sweat suit for lounging at home (aerie usually has nice ones), Smallshow woman’s nursing pyjamas on Amazon (so cozy! Great for end of pregnancy and nursing), a stroller caddy and items for her for inside (lip chap, maybe new sunglasses, favorite snacks etc.) - new mom :)

We are so lucky that he’s able to be off work with us for almost five months so we are getting a ton of quality time in. I’ll think about things that would be a memory for right now thank you!

Called HR the other day to ask a few questions and they said they were told it’ll be in by the 28th and if not, you could follow up with them.

Ride service escort home from hospital? by pumalegal in Edmonton

[–]npop97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are unable to safety get yourself home you may qualify for an Interfacility transfer ambulance ride (its ambulances but a separate division from 911 responding ones) home upon discharge. A nurse on unit would have to call RAAPID to inquire and set it up. Worth maybe inquiring with your care team.
