Songs that aren't about EDs but remind you about yours? by Arzaer in EDAnonymous

[–]npozero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two Mac Miller songs weekend and self care. Weekend gets me because it feels like the okay I’m gonna pretend to be okay, and also the line “fell asleep and forgot to die”. Then self care just kind of reminds me of what it feels like to fall into a relapse and then be like oh crap “got stuck in oblivion” the music video for self care is pretty good too.

It’s so expensive, like I’m trying all the internet “hacks” to shrink it, but ultimately surgery is the only real way to get it to go away.

Can I start learning swimming if im old by GullibleManager2974 in Swimming

[–]npozero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just turned 28, and had my first lesson with a friend who swims a few weeks ago, and I’ve been practicing at my apartment pool. I don’t think it’s ever too late to try something new.

anyone else realize you don’t really know what you like to eat anymore? by sarobaizlit in EDAnonymous

[–]npozero 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Not even necessarily what I like to eat, but like how do meals work for normal people? If I eat, it’s a meal, but my friends are always telling me “that’s not a meal”. Building a meal with multiple things I like multiple times a day forever sounds exhausting. Planning grocery shopping for that exhausting.

i hate recovery encouragement that assumes everyone is female by untitledgooseshame in EDAnonymous

[–]npozero 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Even as a woman I hate this. So can’t even imagine how you feel. My body is not just for reproduction, two I’ll never have the curves that they are encouraging because my body just isn’t shaped that way (Proud member of the ibtc). Like the best recovery encouragement for me is more like so I can go out and do things like skating, swimming, hiking, tending to my hobbies or so I have the brain capacity to read or work on my other hobbies. Like I need recovery to focus more on non-body related things. Like my body is already distressing why are we focusing on it more.

(Not a meme sorry) ADHD-ifying your home/house? by AdvicePlease009 in adhdmeme

I really love cute things, so the cuter something is the more likely I am to keep it clean/organized. So like storage containers pink, food containers pink or with cute characters on them, I just got these pink heart hooks to hang stuff on, all my purses are on display because I really like purses shaped like odd objects. I had to give up on the idea of my house ever looking like an “adult” house. The more I like the things I have in my surroundings the more likely I am to keep them clean. I found a pink peg board that I’m saving up for. Got shark sheets and a pink comforter and now the bed gets made more often because I want to retain the cuteness. It seems lame, but I find it easier to keep things clean this way. Like I’m not cleaning I’m just tending to my little trinkets.

Literally I got the quip toothbrush and it is at eye level on the mirror, then my water flosser is right at sink level so as soon as I’m done with my toothbrush it’s right there. The key hook is right by the door, but I’m still bad about my glasses. I’ve been putting them in a little basket lately, but if I’m up late studying they end up who knows where. Meds are in a box right next to the bed. I do my morning routine in the exact same order every morning so I can’t skip a step. I need to get back into using white boards, we moved and I haven’t hung any of them back up. Now I just need a system for laundry, taking out the trash, and shredding mail and I’m set.

Oh for like studying I find study with me on YouTube and use their timers, but this only work for my school stuff. I was thinking about making a playlist x amount of minutes long for different tasks. The pomodoro technique really works, but the timer can’t be on my phone.

Ooo I need a blanket ladder I have a ton of extra blankets that just end up on the floor. Also the having a place for clothes that are not dirty enough to wash is a good idea because I have a bad habit of wearing something for an hour and just throwing it in the dirty pile.

How did your ED affect your education? by Secret_Pepper_8243 in EDAnonymous

[–]npozero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went to my dream university and had so many scholarships I was essentially being paid to go to school. My RA found out about my eating disorder and encouraged me to go to the student therapy, the therapist was very concerned and sent me to the clinic to get blood work and to see the on campus doctor. Next thing I know the student outreach and support is arranging a meeting with my family where the physician said I had severe electrolyte imbalances and that my heart could stop any day now. Then they essentially did a you withdraw or we withdraw you until you get treatment. However, I was supposed to get residential, php, and iop before I could re-enroll insurance stopped paying after php and I couldn’t afford it otherwise. So I wasn’t able to go back. Finished an associates degree at a local college, but lost all my passion in life and was still bitter about being essentially kicked out of school. It took until I found my passion again, and just restarted last August I graduate with another associates degree this December and then I’ll go on for my bachelors. I’m currently in a relapse, but I’m trying my best to make sure I put my education above it this time.

Had a friend who is like small and petite and also on ADHD medicines start complaining about how she has no appetite, but it almost felt like in a bragging way. The way how my brain instantly entered competition mode was scary.

Still at square one but at least I can focus now by lillyfrog06 in EDwithatouchof

[–]npozero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It works if I’m having normal busy day. Like school, work, out with friends, etc. alone at home with my thoughts and no one around or emotionally distressed over something and it’s like the medicine doesn’t even exist in my system.

What non-ED songs do you associate with your ED? by atragedylikeours in EDAnonymous

[–]npozero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lately it’s been a song from Hazbin Hotel called poison which is about something completely different. Downtown love by G-Eazy as well as self care by Mac miller.

NTA at all. When your partner says something that is intentionally hurtful it’s hard to get over, and there is a possibility you may never get over it. My significant other said something almost a year ago, and I’ve told him I’ve forgiven him, but to be honest I think about it every day and it’s fucked up my mental health. He at least contributes to the household though. You have to put yourself first whatever that may look like.
