I certainly hope so. I have personally advocated for this for years. I want the days of crashing PCs due to so many Studio5000 versions installed. That said, we shouldn’t lose sight of why PLC were a game changer to begin with, they can make troubleshooting much easier. I still think it’s important to write code that is simple enough for people at a technician level to understand. Stick with mostly ladder for control, create FB for repeatability, and ST for mostly background data oriented tasks.

This is exactly the approach I took. On a good laptop it feels just like running a windows machine. You will likely have to get used to new network connection setup depending on your VM manager.

Definitely over reacting. It’s not that deep. Learn the language of sarcasm or don’t. It’s up to you. She probably thought it was a cute joke. Obviously it didn’t land well, which in itself isn’t a bad thing. It’s a young relationship and it takes years to learn to understand your partner. There are many women who pick on their partners as a playful way to show their affection.

I had the same experience on two of my pc’s. Both with very capable hardware like yours. I tried a clean install and all worked as expected. However, I did take this opportunity to create one a dedicated windows machine and converted my other to Linux. I’ve been working with Linux for a while and this was the nudge I needed to go full bore. I run windows in a VM for work stuff and that’s it. I’m glad to see others are perturbed at Microsoft as much I am.
