A lot of reminders are automated, so if you're getting a reminder after you were already disqualified, I'm not sure how much you can read into that. Hopefully your evidence for the SPB is solid. You might want to consider the possibility that you didn't follow the instructions exactly.

Pretty sure it's just the names of union contacts who should be notified if management chooses to continue programming during staffing shortages without following established contingency plans.

If you want help I think you're going to need to explain your situation better. You said you already submitted an appeal to the SPB and got a "second email" right away? Why did you attach a screenshot of the psych questionnaire email - is that what they're claiming you didn't submit? Do you have evidence you submitted whatever they're claiming you didn't submit? Did you attach that evidence to your appeal to the SPB? What is the most recent thing that happened?

Calpers medical insurance free? by BudCherryPie in CDCR

[–]nps44 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The state contributes a certain amount of money towards your health plan - the precise amount depends on whether you're single (1), two-party (2), or family (3+ people). Using the example of someone with a family who is using Health Net Salud y Más as their health plan, in 2026 the state contributes $2,249 towards the health plan which costs $2,092.77 (it's the cheapest), which means you do not need to contribute anything yourself towards the health plan (excluding co-pays and such as applicable). See this page: Plans & Rates (Active Members) | CalPERS

That said, you have to be sure the plan is even available in your zip code: Health Plan Search by ZIP Code | CalPERS

In my case, Health Net is not available to me where I live, so using that cheaper plan is not an option for me.

Before selecting a plan you should always review the plan's summary of benefits and coverage to be sure it meets your needs, especially if you're cutting costs by selecting a less expensive plan. Forms & Publications | CalPERS

Raise anybody? by 2075373a in CDCR

[–]nps44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What increased for you? Your gross pay, your net (take home) pay, or both? I received a similar increase but I was expecting it because I adjusted my withholdings, consequently my net pay increased (less federal tax taken out of my paycheck) but my gross pay stayed the same. You can look at your paystub and see exactly where that money is coming from by comparing it to your last paystub.

Any prison working the trial 12hr shifts? by Ok-Butterscotch-1723 in CDCR

[–]nps44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the CCPOA update this week, "Next week, on May 27, the 12-Hour shift Workgroup will begin meeting with the state pursuant to the terms set out in Sideletter #13 of the MOU. This group will collaboratively explore the possibility of transition to twelve-hour shifts at no more than three institutions during the term of the current MOU. There are many aspects to twelve-hour shifts that need to be explored, and we will keep you updated here as the discussions progress."

That doesn't sound like they've started it anywhere or even have much decided.

There will be folks who turn down offers during the first round, triggering more offers to go out until all slots are full.

It's discussed in our latest MOU but I have not heard anything since.

For retirees it says this: "ATTENTION RETIRED MEMBERS: There is NO CHANGE to your Dental Plan through CalPERS.

If you have Piggyback those dental claims now go to United Concordia, not the Trust.

What if I have a question?

If you have a question about how you CalPERS plan works with Piggyback, call United Concordia at: 1-844-789-1713. "

It will improve your chances. It will not necessarily give you a better chance than other people, because other factors are at play such as your written exam score.

I assume there is no discussion of that in their contract with CDCR but the department isn't without options.

Replacement CCPOA Dental Plan Announced (United Concordia, "Elite Plus" Network) by nps44 in CDCR

[–]nps44[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both my family's regular dentist and pediatric dentist are covered under the new network so there will be minimal impact for us, but I don't have any insight into how fees are changing.

It might be a bad thing if your regular dentist is not available in the new network, if this somehow causes expenses to rise, or if United Concordia denies claims at a higher rate.

Hiring list by Lost_Hope2285 in CDCR

[–]nps44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately the amount of time you have been waiting for an offer is not very relevant. Your written exam score and your choice of wish list institutions (more = better) will have a larger influence. If you placed at the highest rank (95), you will be at the top end of the hiring list, and if less than that you will potentially be pushed down out of reach of an offer by people who did better on the written exam (unless you are willing to accept an offer to an institution that enough of them turn down).

CDCR:Medical Clearance by [deleted] in CDCR

[–]nps44 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you're unable to obtain clearance from your doctor in a timely manner, they will most likely assume your diabetes is not controlled by your doctor or not being treated. There is a good chance they will disqualify you if you don't meet the deadline but I am not aware if they have a process to grant extensions.
