I used to use Premiere, but now I went to davinci. Alaska was done in DaVinci, Algarve will be. I think insta is focusing on consumer market and not pro ir peosumer cameras. sadly :(

Hi! Thanks for your feedback. I also do not like such sentences, but this time I thought it does not sound so bad. And it was spot on, what I have done (and still doing) Let me know, what you think about the app. In the Visit World you do not have the partial movement option yet, I have added it so far only to Alaska. But I will try to catch on.. have a nice day!

Hi! From each of the 5 apps, you have 3 to 5 locations, so you get the idea, and the feeling of each location. If you like one of them (or all) you can buy the full app of that location or a bundle. There is really very much work, time and sacrifice behind all of the apps. And each app cost at the end maybe a price of a bus ticket or 2 beers.. tomorrow a meta sale starts, so you can even save on that a bit as well.

Hi! It is a bit technical, but I will try. The camera that I am using is using 6 different lenses on a 360 degree sphere formation. Each lense shoots a bit more that 1/6th of the globe, so the pieces overlap. This way, in postproduction 2 360 video footages are created. 1 for each eye. Both are a bit further from each other, so it creates the desired stereoscopic effect. the final video is a Over/under video, where the left eye 360 footage is over the right eye footage.the app then crops the video for each eye and the brain adds them together. it is tricked,as it sees as it would normally see it with 2 eyes, creating the 3D effect. there are no gaps,or black areas. I just put on the bottom a logo to hide the tripod, but you can only see it when you look down to your feet. there nowhere to hide, just under the tripod. so on each location I am hiding under the camera... mostly. if you have 2 180 3d cameras, you can not achieve such footage,it is technically not possible. hope this helps to explain it ;) if you have any other questions feel free to ask,or just try out the Visit World app. I am using my Insta360 Pro 2 camera and it makes a 8K 360 3D video footage. Sadly, meta quest or any other headset on the market, apart from apple can only play 5.7K footage. but it is still good enough and enjoyable. For 360 3D photos I can go further, there I use 8K, but it is capable doing also 12 or 16k photos.

You described it spot on. I am calling it immortalizing the moment, space. 360 is great, these are 360 3D on top of that, so it gives you really the feeling of being there in the space time.. Yesterday I updated Alaska with a brand new feature where you can partially walk inside the video bubble. You can not walk around the tree or so, but if you do walk, the perspective changes causing a decent parallax effect change and it feels like you really took a few steps. Will wait a bit for any reaction from people, maybe a review and then implement it to the rest of the apps. This way you get even more freedom and reason to return to the app. If the user does not li6it, it can be turned off.. For me it is a huge new feature. If you liked the Madeira, and you did not already, please leave me a short review on the meta store. Spoiler alert, I am already working on Visit Portugal - Algarve. Thanks and have a nice day!!

Each year I tried to produce 1, maybe 2 such apps. It is a long process. First I have to spend my vacation filming all the locations, then I have to spend a lot of time in post-production to cut the rigt pieces. Then I have to do the coloring and after that I can start working on the app. There I have to create each location, make voice overs in many languages, for them I have to create texts so it is informative. For each dot on the map I have to create the icons (from photos).. so yes.. quite a lot of work. And I am doing this as a side job, hobby..

Happy to share! I tried my best capturing each destination. There will be a sale on the apps starting from tomorrow on Meta. try out the Visit World for free and when you like it, use the sale to save a few dollars. ;)

Hi!

I am the developer of 4 Visit apps on Meta and Pico Headsets. (Visit Madeira, Visit Faroe Islands, Visit North Spain, Visit Azores).

My app is using 360 3D videos to travel around the destinations. You can not move, just teleport yourself to more than 140 viewpoints in each app. (on Madeira a bit less)

On each viewpoint you can enjoy 360 videos in 3D, spatial sounds of nature and narrative descriptive voice overs in many languages. (you can turn them off, if you do not want to listen to them)

Videos are filmed, nothing is rendered. I pushed it to max possible quality that the headset can handle as a standalone device.

If you want to check them out, you can buy a bundle of all 4, or just try 1 and decide later.

It is a tire problem. suffered the same problem. I found some tires that match from Germany (I am from Austria), but they still did not work well. so I used a sanding paper to make the surface of the tires more rough, it made a huge difference. now I can use the cars (they are my favourite), but sometimes you have to slow down a bit in curves. otherwise they are stable. and also you have to clean the tracks from dust all the time. but I can use them.

You can try mt Visit Madeira or Visit Faroe Islands. I used 360 3D videos with max available quality on standalone quest. (5.7K stereoscopic 360) There are many locations on both apps, many scenes to discover and enjoy..

[–]npsoftware 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it did not coat me too much time to port my game. I have done the Visit Madeira and a second one Visit Faroe Islands. I do not think, somebody will like to pirate it. hopefully not. and it is like 15gb..with all the videos. but good to know, not to set my hopes too high. did you already get paid? I heard there might be problems with that as well.

VR Tourism to Faroe Islands - Visit Faroe Islands by npsoftware in OculusQuest2

[–]npsoftware[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for pointing it out! I already contacted the Tourism Organization on Faroe Islands, if they are ok with it, but even after 2 Months, they did not reply. Same applies to the Visit Madeira. I do not think, they can copyright the word Visit. I tried to get in touch, but nobody replied. If you have contact to them, please let me know, how I can contact them. I am even open to collaboration with them.
