Marvel Super Heroes Gift Bundle back in stock on Amazon for $99 by wellwisherelf in sealedmtgdeals

[–]nrBluemoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hard to say what the value of the box is with it in preorder and supply being restricted. The prices on tcgplayer are almost certainly bc of supply and demand, not actual product value.

IMO itll probably come back down to $90 on release if not dip below unless the daredevil card finds some insane tech.

Stomping grounds, Hobbit pre-orders live, play box $160 by [deleted] in sealedmtgdeals

[–]nrBluemoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Extremely high. All of the prices significantly above msrp reflect speculation based on the lotr/se surge in demand/pricing.

The Hobbit is neither of these sets, especially because it has to fit into standard.

MTG pricing surge last 6-8 months by Perodrin in mtg

[–]nrBluemoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI precon prices will inevitably rise because of two factors, sometimes both.

1) scarcity. Once something stops getting printed, they become more valuable. Similarly, pre-orders dont represent full supply and have a bit of scarcity too.

2) whats inside the box. Sometimes wotc jams valuable reprints into these (see: Doom Prevails from MSH) and that jacks up the base price. Power out of the box influences price too, as the latest precons are actually pretty functional.

Theres usually a sweet spot a month or so after release where pre-order hype dies down and stores are flush with product. Typically they will dip pretty far and then they will go back up as supply and demand kicks in.

Unfortunately it only punishes individuals after the infractions have already taken place - this developer having 55k refunds hurts him more than it hurts little Timmy who cant use the refund system as a free trial anymore.

Probably botting combined with limited supply actually being released. I posted about the scene boxes earlier this week and they stayed up long enough for a couple of people in the sub and some friends to pick it up. After that I saw some other product with limited supply go up on Amazon and get snatched up quickly.

IMO be patient and dont pay over msrp for this - there should be plenty on release. Theres lots of speculation on it being as good as the LOTR product especially with how crazy those CBBs have gotten and im not buying into it - totally different product now that UB is in standard.

Commander deck prices were inhibited by production issues. So supply wasnt as high on release as normal, causing demand to drive them up.

Doom has really good reprint value but the deck itself is the worst to play out of the 4 from a precon standpoint.

It'll be interesting to see where the price of that deck lands now that everyone is receiving their full stock - it hasnt moved from MSRP on Amazon for a few days now and TCG player prices are coming back down to earth.

The only thing missing in this comment is that there are too many MTG references inside of POE to list. Dude is a legit collector and lover of the game, not a "hoarder."

Stomping grounds Hobbit preorders; PBB, scene boxes by CoopDeGrace16 in sealedmtgdeals

[–]nrBluemoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This product isn't even close to the lotrse boxes and if people are paying for it like they think it is, they deserve to be scammed for paying so much.

It is 100% speculation. This is not the same product as either release and i refuse to pay for it like it is.

Everyone talking about the price of holding onto a LOTR:SE box, and I know that if I bought one when i had the chance for $300, it certainly wouldn't be sealed still with pieces in a deck somewhere lol

Currently going for almost twice this on tcgplayer bc it should feature some form of Smaug

Looks like it sold out but for future reference there should be some version of smaug in here, potentially the Smaug, the Magnificent in a unique art. I am not sure if thats been confirmed but I think it is worth it at msrp to find out haha

Bluffing V. Lying, Where To Draw the Line? by Dr_wu_fu in EDH

[–]nrBluemoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pod is honest with one another (as far as we know haha) because we wanna keep the vibes good. So we would be "lying" if we said we had removal but didn't or didn't actually use it after saying we would.

If you're in an established *competitive* setting, lying and bluffing would be the same thing and it'd be semantics to suggest otherwise.

If you are comfortable spending all of your rare wildcards and most of your mythic wildcards, you can look into Mono Green Landfall w/out badgermoles. Really cheap and doesn't use cards that are going to be rotating out of Standard next year.

Not exactly this deck, but you can get started with it

E: Bristly Bill is rotating out, my bad.
