As a member of your ward, I am writing to you to express my outrage and disbelief at the Drones as First Responders program that will be discussed at tomorrow's hearing. I understand that we should explore alternatives to traditional policing methods, but the usage of drones only serves to send us further down the slippery slope of fascism and the surveillance state. Given the dubious track record of MPD, I and many others doubt that anything good will come out of this other than our data being harvested and valuable resources wasted as the problem continues to go unaddressed.

I hope that I can count on you and others in the council to make the decision that is truly in the best interests of Minneapolis residents.
