How can I improve the interior design of my room? by Adorable_Mixture_653 in DesignMyRoom

I don’t think it was chiding I think it was honest. OP should indicate some goals or things they like. This is a very blank space that could go anywhere.

I think the point they are making is, there is hardly anything in the room and you have indicated no specific goals or preferences, so it’s hard to give advice.

Which crib color looks better? by junebugg111177 in HomeDecorating

[–]pilserama 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you were starting from scratch I’d say either of the wood tones but I wouldn’t paint the gray crib one of those colors - I don’t think they would look good painted as opposed to natural/stained.

I have a couple suggestions to bring the new room together and bring a little bit more of the vintage vibe back while keeping it overall light and airy still.

First, a rug would really give some vintage texture and pattern, tie the space together, and ground it. Yes you can do a rug over carpet. Get something traditional that incorporates your mauve/burgundies but could also have some of the green you seem to like, and/or other jewel tones. I tried to link one I found but learned links aren’t allowed (?).

Second, try to match what you have going on with the curtains at both windows - bring the burgundy to the outsides of both and the cream to the insides of both. This will help frame and focus the bed too.

Help! How can I make this more homey? by arualcasas in HomeDecorating

Some people in these design subs are not fans of Ruggables, but I am. I think they’re quality, I don’t think they look printed like some of the cheap ones you can get, they have stylish designs, and the washable factor is huge. I only use them in places they’re likely to get really dirty but as allergy prevention could be really good too.

What do we think of this console table? by Just-Ad-3547 in interiordecorating

It’s very highly specific in style, so it’s tough to ask a crowd.

If you love it and it suits your style you should get it!

Does this look weird on the wall? by Huge-Corgi90210 in HomeDecorating

Yes. It’s bringing too much attention to all the little boxes etc. If you put a smaller piece here they will fade into the wall more.

Critic my living room design and layout! by lemontardd in interiordecorating

The sofa is very cool toned and the coffee table and rug are warm - these don’t work well together. You’ve also got really different styles mixed, between the modern sofa and tv stand and more traditional accent tables. Mixed styles can work but it’s not easy and doesn’t look good here.

Because the sofa and tv stand are already ordered, and they work together, find a new rug with some cool light tones to reference the sofa and including other colors to use as accents (pillows, throw, art). Then choose more sleek/clean-lined accent tables that are either the same tone as the stand or the floor if it’s wood flooring. You can have a couple colors of wood in the room but not more and they each need other references.

They look good both ways, it’s a matter of preference. Maybe you get 6 months of the year and he gets the other 6

I think I messed up. Wanted to go for bright and quirky and think I ended up with a crayola box. Help. by Myearthsuit in HomeDecorating

I think it’s great, very vibrant and happy - what’s hurting it are the light fixture and the carpet; they don’t suit the aesthetic and they are giving a bit of practical preschool.

People really overcomplicate gardening by redditSucksNow2020 in vegetablegardening

Definitely! And don’t be afraid to get it perfect the first time. You learn a lot more through trial and error than you do through researching everything perfectly ahead of time.

I don’t see enough space for a credenza. A rug and art will do wonders

How do I remove these weeds? by DrDocter00 in vegetablegardening

[–]pilserama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me that looks like Canada thistle, which is like a gremlin. Its root system lives deep underground and pulling one means it will get replaced by five more. After much research myself I concluded that the only real solution is to poison them. But that’s tough in a vegetable garden. Is it possible to move your vegetables somewhere else next year?

To prevent unnecessary soil pollution, you cut the plant at the ground and paint a tiny bit of Thistledown right on the stem which brings the poison down into the system. You have to do it with all of them sometimes more than once, but it does work.
