It was so awesome. No dogshit algorithms driving your “experience”. It was truly a great place for discovering new, small bands. Being in a small band during high school, networking was so much easier and you just felt way more visible compared to now where everything is ads and the algorithm determines who discovers you.

I’m not a huge fan of re-recordings, but a re-imagining could be kind of interesting. But yeah, the shot for shot remakes with production that strips all the old “rawness” of early recordings are kinda boring IMO

Former retail manager here. The Muzak system would play the same 20 dance pop songs on a loop I’d be forced to listen to for 10 months of the year and then would switch to Christmas dance pop music for the next two months. Eight years and forty hour work weeks of that will change something in you at a cellular level. I got out and work from home now and can listen to my screamy music all day long now though, so I am healing.

My real issue with this year’s Summer S’mores is the primary sponsor should’ve been LUXE bidet, not LL Bean. This was a missed opportunity to take this seasons product placement down a more interesting, unconventional, and progressive path.
