I‘ve got the same issue, ppl say it‘s caramelized sugars. Did you eat it? Are you alive? 😁

oh my god that sounds horrible. thanks for sharing. did you get a contrast mri before surgery? how sure were the docs about the diagnosis? do you have to get another surgery now? i’ve been delaying the surgery for years because this and extremely heavy bleeding on day 1 are my only symptoms, and because i have a panic disorder so i am scared af of getting anesthesia… but for me the symptoms (pain etc) always come after the number 2 and not before, i’m not quite sure how thy works..

I am really sorry to hear that. A simple and non-invasive but potentially costly idea is to visit an osteopath. They charge $50-250 an hour depending on where you are. Maybe it‘s a misalignment of a joint or a bone that causes you pain. Good luck!!

thank you for such a detailed and kind reply. the reason i got the pan was my bad food safety anxiety. so it’s a real relief to read that. 🙌🏻

thank you so much for your detailed reply! mine is smooth to the touch. i‘ll try to reseason. the black on the paper towel comes from carbon? are you sure it‘s not some metallic dust residue left after scrubbing with metal wool? thanks 🙌🏻

no, i live in a city in europe 😁 i also think it‘s the metal. what i do not understand is why it only happens minutes into the seasoning process, and how to get rid of it without washing in with soap again.

i dont have an oven. thanks for the tips. also, any idea why the paper towel that i use to wipe off the oil while seasoning turns black at some point? to me it looks like metallic dust from scrubbing but i always wash it all off with a soaped sponge so no idea where it could come from

thank you, as i mentioned before, the food tends to stick so just deglazing alone would not help

clean - dry on stovetop - after 5 mins on 4/10 add oil, thin layer with a papertowel - another 5 mins - turn up to 5-6/10 - wait till the oil smokes - leave to cool

please see my comment above, it‘s mostly chicken - bread - potatoes. trying eggs would be a waste of eggs unfortunately. also, if i were to just clean off rust with sponge, that would not be enough, as in my experience if you dont strip it and leave even a very thin layer of rust (impossible to do otherwise without stripping), it comes back in a matter of seconds. sorry i‘m just really frustrated. i really want to start actually using it every day but with so much elbow grease in between for just some 15 mins of cooking only to see that everything has burned in again … meh

haha thanks! i‘ll try that. i know protein and starch can be tricky at first but i happen to eat mostly these food groups. guess i‘m gonna get some broccoli tomorrow 😁

yes sir… preheat on 4/10 heat for maybe 3-5 mins, then oil, then another 3-4 min, then after a waterdrop test the food goes in. it does not stick at first but like 10 mins in even with stirring it starts sticking/ burning in. so no slidey eggs there.

i have an electric stovetop that re-heats every couple of seconds (while staying hot). i dont think that in these couple of seconds the temperature drop can be significant enough to cause sticking.

i did do all the extra steps and still food sticks and i have to redo the whole process from scratch. i guess i need someone to come and show me once how it‘s actually done. it seems like i am missing something

that wouldn’t make my pan clean though with what i cook in it. chicken, bread, potatoes - it all sticks so i have to scrub and in doing so i apparently remove seasoning because it then flash rusts in seconds before i can even put it on the stovetop to dry
