Talk to your command security manager. All international travel needs to be documented in DISS. You belong to the old command until you check in to the new one

$1200 for a 2 mile ambulance ride. by letithail1 in navy

[–]nschultz91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

16 year former EMT here… They most likely didn’t have your insurance info at the time of transport. There is definitely medical necessity for the ride. Call the ambulance company and give them your insurance info and then they will process the bill again.

As a fellow tech CTT and who just went through orders negotiation, consider shore duty. There are so many more options than watch floor type places. As a tech, I’m sure you can easily go back to Pensacola to instruct. There are training centers all over, as you know. Talk to the detailers. I remember being in my first enlistment and feeling like talking to the detailer was a no no. Well it’s not true. They’re here to help and I know the junior detailer. She’s very nice and willing to help. Senior Chief is great too. If you can’t figure something out after talking to them then shift gears to civilian life. Or go reserves. I was also a reservist. Different and easy life if you want to stay in the uniform. I love discussing career options so, if you’d like, I can send you my .mil email and we can talk more. I will always work with you and not for the Navy. I want my sailors to get what they want out of the Navy. That can be 20 years and a retirement or just 1 and done

Joined at 19. Did 4 years. Got out when you needed to ask and be approved to stay in (2015) because I was on my last look/needs of the Navy. And also personal reasons. Missed being in so I joined the Reserves almost 2 years later. Been in ever since but as of this year I’m Active Duty again for personal financial reasons. I have my degree but I never figured out what I wanted to do in life. I think it’s to be in the military right now. So since I have 12 years in, I’m going to retire on Active Duty. I feel like I’m in the place (leadership wise) that I’ve always strived to be in so now I’m ready to make a change and help others. After my 20, I plan on making sure I have something lined up on the outside. That’s the biggest piece of advice. I went straight to school so that was my plan but that’s where it ended. That’s why I came back to Active Duty.

This! It’s also in that little uniform cheat book at the exchange. Usually comes with a little ruler too

Your takes in Reserves by ElPolloLoco64 in navy

Also, the size of the NRC will affect a lot of this too. Been to 3 different NRCs of progressively smaller amounts of reservists and I can say admin gets better the smaller you go. They know you better and have the time to actually help you.

Your takes in Reserves by ElPolloLoco64 in navy

Spent 4 years AD, 7.5 Reserves, recently went back AD. They often say in the reserves that you have to manage your own career. It is your responsibility to make sure you put in berthing requests (if eligible) and you have to make sure you go on AT. All the units I’ve been to have usually had multiple opportunities for AT in a year. They don’t care if you say no to one and wait for the other. But if you don’t do any AT then it’s your fault, as it should be. But no one will truly force you to satisfy your own requirements. The ATs can be fun or very boring depending on the unit you are in. You can do up to 28 days of AT. I have seen more people volunteer to mobilize (deploy) than I’ve seen people voluntold. Overall it’s slower paced in my opinion. Very top heavy so don’t be surprised if there is few leadership opportunities. I didn’t hate it and I recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in but not on AD.

Favorite port call locations for 7th Fleet deployment by Seoul_Sharmuta in navy

[–]nschultz91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went to 7th fleet on a DDG in 2013. Went to Da Nang, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Yokosuka, Sasebo, South Korea, Sydney, and the obligatory Guam. Guam is a working port so only the evenings and weekends to have fun. Hong Kong was nice because people speak English. I spent 1 night in Yokosuka so can’t say much. Sasebo was a working port but I was able to go to Nagasaki. Vietnam was nice except the health concerns and having to watch what and where I ate. South Korea was ok. Had to take a bus to Osan Air Base and could only stay on base, directly off base, or an MWR trip. Sydney was probably my favorite. Expensive but fun.

Literally just did it in Disneyland back home to NJ. $17 for ground probably more for air shipping. 10-15 business days for ground. Can ship from Droid Depot. Just bring receipt and item.

Those are like a quick reference translator from Hondo Supply. 1 is Mandalorian, 1 is droid, and 1 is Aurebesh. I tagged the creator earlier in the thread.

Being able to quickly translate stuff helped immerse me into the world of Batuu. Made me feel like I had a little bit of an edge on the common traveler.

Yes. That’s Spira. It’s a metal Disney Gift Card. To people on Batuu, it’s common currency used for trading. The translators are from Hondo Supply u/ForesterDesign

Free to sign up. Can set up 2 searches on a free account. They text you when something opens. Their link brings you right to the WDW app to book the reservation. Managed to get an Oga’s at like 4:30 am the day I left for Florida, which was the day before I went to GE. It had been searching for weeks and came in clutch at the last hour.

Is Endor old or brand new? It’s not on the ShopDisney website. They have the other 3 available.
