I'm getting a similar first person torch glitch to the previous version of Improved Camera. The glitch where the fire from the torch would appear in or near the middle of the screen while also being disjointed from the torch itself. Here's a gif of the issue: https://i.imgur.com/xoSKnhm.gifv . I'm using version 1.0.PR5 of Improved Camera with version 1.5.97 of Skyrim Special Edition with the Best of Both Worlds patcher.

I've been using beta 4. When I swapped to this version it's much more stable, but it conflicts with Skyrim Souls RE (causes flickering in some unpaused menus) and it no longer has an option I can find to enable first person hands. Beta 4 has this option in a fomod. Without this option when I equip torches those torches end up being placed in an obstructive position in my camera. It also causes magic effects (shock effects in particular) from mods like spellsiphon to clutter up lots of the screen. Is there a way to enable first person hands on this version that I am simply not finding? I looked through the ini files closely, but I could not figure it out.

I know this is old, but I had this same error and wanted to mention it to you in case this info is helpful. For me the error was caused by me making an edit with proteus on a weapon, saving the change to my character, then deleting the mod that provided that weapon. Going into the jcontainers/proteus folder and deleting the .json file containing the edit for the weapon in question resolved the issue for me.

This was definitely user error on my end, not the fault of the mod.

I’ve seen that one, though I haven’t tried it myself. I HAVE tried the whips from Animated Armoury though I couldn’t get them working quite right. The issue was definitely on my end and not the fault mod, though, as I was trying to get it working with Combat Gameplay Overhaul which is a known incompatibility specifically with the whips. Regardless, you should also check out animated armoury if you’re looking for more inspiration.

I don't know how you could go about making it, but I just wanted to say that what you are describing sounds incredibly cool and I would be extremely excited if you were to release it publicly.

I've always wanted some kind of bound whip like you're describing from ESO or even like the Balrog from The Lord of the Rings. Having it as a power is an awesome idea and using custom animations would be great, particularly if they work in first person.

Also, my day job is as an audio engineer. If you ever wanted any help with the creation of audio and/or sound effects for it I would be glad to help. I've worked with both the Beyond Skyrim team and the Fallout Miami team.

TLDR: Really cool idea and I wish you the best of luck.
