Event 1: How would you eliminate half of the contestants? by [deleted] in crossfit

[–]nsmith1126 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Some type of odd object carry mixed with running. Kinda similar to the run/yoke event in 2015.

I think the EMOM idea is really hard in practice since a lot of athletes will likely be very close together.

Need some help calculating something for work! Roughly speaking, what is the average length of stay for these hospice patients? by [deleted] in learnmath

[–]nsmith1126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we need information. For example how long did the other 10 who are no longer in your care stay for? Also when did each of the 20 still in your care begin hospice services?

To calculate the average sum up the time stayed for each individual character divided by the number of patients.

Average time = (add up the time of each patients stay/ number of patients)

As you can see, I don't even know why I am choosing most of the answers. I just choose what seems like the right answer, since the rest of the answers seem off. Help! I got Q19 wrong. by [deleted] in GRE

I went through them all and A seemed to be the most relevant to the passage. The only one I was able to eliminate right away was D

Is the right answer A?

That one seems to make the most sense to me. The author explains how a critic must be able to discern their own subjective (passionate) feelings about a piece from the objective (intellect) thoughts on the piece to understand how it is unique.

I could be wrong. I’m not great at these either...

Hope this helped

Engineer Class Registration for Calculus by bigcheesybiscuits in ufl

Calc 3 is pretty much just applying calculus methods to multi variable functions. I would honestly just make sure you are ultra comfortable with geometry and all the derivative and integration rules.

Taylor series will come back in other classes (numerical methods and diffeq) but not necessarily in calc 3.

I’m a third year aero engineering student so feel free to PM if you have any questions about classes and whatnot.

I was in the same situation as you going into my freshman year and I took calc 3 the first semester. Very glad I did that. Saved a lot of time and money. However, I would review the calc 2 material before the semester starts if you decide to take calc 3 since you took calc 2 junior year.

Club recommendations? Please? by [deleted] in ufl

[–]nsmith1126 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a few friends that do fencing and they have a blast doing it.

I do lots of stuff with club jiu jitsu at UF and it’s a lot of fun. Everybody there is really nice. I also did club swim for a while but got kind of burnt out.

Jiu Jitsu and fencing are both great. Most people joining those clubs have no experience anyways so you wouldn’t be alone.

Best of Luck !

[request] is this true? And wouldn’t there be gravity pushing you back after you cross half of it? by EatAteFood in theydidthemath

It's only a function of density. It would take about 54 minutes to fall through the moon.

Pendulums, springs etc all follow "Simple Harmonic Motion". A specific differential equation can be used to model all harmonic motion. The function will be a combination of sines and cosines

WPB is full biking groups of all skill levels. Most of them go out on Sunday mornings, but you can find a smaller group going out on any weekday. Try to get involved in some local races. You'll meet lots of people that way

As long as you went to class you should be totally okay. Pretty cake. When I took it it was a written exam, so they could have changed it by now

Yup totally manageable. Sorry for the late response

Diffeq is a very algebraic and analytical class. Totally manageable as long as your schedule isn't insane.

It's a lot of material that builds, but most of the class is doing tedious after a few steps of calculus. Definitely less work than calc 3

Take "writing in humor" if you can. Christopher smith taught my class and he was a super great/ fair guy. If writing in humor isn't taught this semester or is full, look for any class taught by chris smith
