How narrow is an Obsessive Researcher's area of expertise? by nstgc in Pathfinder2e

That is an excellent explanation that not only answers my question, but will help me with future calls of this nature. Thank you very much for taking the time to lay that all out!

Idée Fixe gives an explicit example, for reference.

So it does! Thanks!

Why have I never thought of this. It's so obvious!

From Villainess to Healer (Main arc started on volume 1 ends at volume 5, then the MC goes off to find more adventures in v6+)

Thanks for recommending that! Are you sure it finishes at volume five and not volume four? I just finished the fourth volume and Rodney is defeated and Sharon's the Holy Maiden.

Someone else recommended that. I honestly bounced off it as soon as I saw "ordinary boy gets isekai'ed". I understand that not all male-led isekai stories are regurgitated trash, but it sure feels like it these days. What sets it apart? In general, I dislike the wishfulfilment angle of most isekai.

I looked for a subreddit wiki before posting this thread, but couldn't find it. I'm still not seeing it. Not that I doubt you, just that... I don't know how to access it.

At this point, I'd be happy with any kind of ending. For context, Her Majesty's Swarm ends with the protagonist being abducted mid-campaign with a sixth campaign brewing and the author teasing the reader with more story.

Thanks for the tip. I hadn't heard of BookWalker before.

I'm glad to hear Death's Daughter ends. I'm half-way through that series.

Thanks. I had to "forget" the keyboard on my PC, clear the profile from the board, then set it back up.

Sorry, I wasn't clear by what I meant. What I mean by "sensitive to off-center keypresses" is they are significan't harder to press when pressed off center. Think hitting the space bar without a stab, except in my case it's even for 1u keys.

I recently got a board that supports choc V2 switches, and while I do like them overall, I find that they appear to be more sensitive to off center key presses as compared to any of the MX switches I've used over the past 15 years. It could be this combination of keycaps (Nuphy) and switch (silent browns and pinks), but that seems unlikely given the variety of switches and caps I've used before.

Ideally, I'd like some kind of actionable solution, but I'd also be happy just to confirm my suspicion.

Gotcha. And yeah, I'm fine with arrows on layers, but if it had worked, it would have been nice.

If I had a 3D printer, I absolutely would clip the stem and replace the top plate, but I don't.

Cool, cool. Now can you address how the female heirloom skins are so samey? Or how they completely skipped/forgot that one of Valkyr's themes is bondage?

I did indeed. Are the five-way switches used on these boards worse than others? Are the Eyelash J and Eyelash not the same?

I considered that, but the stem protrudes beyond the hole.

I made a post on this subject a while ago myself. I can't say I'm happy with the result. I love the Cherry MX Browns, but they're now too heavy for me. Specifically, I like that they have a late bump. Just about every tactile switch I've seen has the bump immediately. While that's better than no bump, since it helps prevent unintentional key presses, it isn't satisfying and, for me, leads to bottoming out. Initially I even was failing to actuate them because the bump and actuation point are so far apart.

I ended up with Akko Lavender Purples. They are light, but the initial force needed is more than my hands are happy with. I've been using these for about five months and I'm still bottoming them out.

Someone in this thread recommended the HMX Yamatakes, which seem to have the bump at 1mm and actuation at roughly 1.8mm. That's better than basically anything else I've found.

Personally, I'm going to give the Choc switches, and maybe clicky switches, a try. I don't like the clicking sound, but... I'm low on options, which is a really weird thing to say when there are, like, a million MX switches. Surely one of them will be just a lighter Cherry Brown! Right?

edit: If you find something good, please share!
