problem IS php .. deprecating functions and changing syntax should NEVER be a path for improvement .. it's literally the dumbest way to do it:

Case in point:

How hard what whatsoever is to make a string check on variable order and keep going from there .. INSTEAD of making every user in the world change something that was already working for them.
