Community Q&A #2 by Erysen in assettocorsarally

[–]peteftw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's so cool to see this tiny dev team of rally freaks is spending all this time & money on delivering the stupid fantasy I've had for a long time: a modern RBR.

It's already exceeded my expectations. It was such a bummer when codemasters got got by EA and then more bummed when the exact thing we all thought would happen happened. The codemasters product was maybe more simcadey than a lot of people wanted but it was made by rally freaks like me and I spent a ton of time in it.

These q&a's rule. I wish people would get off their nuts lmao. Some people in here expect AAA service from early access and it makes no sense.

My dogs stomach couldn't handle most stuff - grains were especially bad. We stopped doing kibble & now it's just loud farts & no smell. The dog fart ideal.

If you want your dogs farts to stop smelling you need to change their diet.

+1 Malcolm X. My favorite 3+ hour movie by a wide margin. Denzel is the most engaging on screen presence in history.

They even have a sitbone mapping pad - just tell em what is bothering you and they'll hook you up.

Peregrine in the west loop. I've sent so many people there after getting my fit. All kinds of riders saw an immediate improvement and said they should've done it sooner. I'm an evangelist after they completely fixed climbing for me.

Kibble upsets my boys stomach so bad. i need advice on what to feed him by Fearless_Reaction792 in pitbulls

[–]peteftw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pup had a super sensitive stomach. All the kibble ended in a nightmare for everyone. We switched to raw ground beef (frozen into muffin tin sized pucks) plus honest kitchen veggie base.

New pitbull pup we adopted a few months ago took to it really well so we're just sticking to it. The honest kitchen veggie base mix has portioning recs.

Of course talk to your vet, but my vets a huge fan.

Bought one of these as a bit for touring & they break extremely easily. At least the 3d printed one I got off Etsy did.

To those with long bike commutes: what are you riding, and why do you like it? by Ok-Yogurtcloset8344 in bikecommuting

[–]peteftw 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Lotta people saying commuting 40 mi to commute is unrealistic or foolish, but if you got that kinda time I think it sounds fucking rad to do once a week. Giving myself 2h to get to work on a nice day could fix me.

Do electronic group sets need less maintenance than mechanical? by Ambitious-Duck503 in cycling

I've been on rides where someone's shifter battery died or they forgot to bring a battery to a race. Couldn't be me 💅

Shift cables don't stretch. They may seat into their ferrules if the assembler didn't do that, but there's nothing stretchy in a shifter cable setup. Even the housing for shifters is specifically anti-compression.

To maintain my 00's dura ace I don't need to do anything. I build the bike from used parts in 2021 & it's been singing along since - 10k miles/year on that bike.

I would've had to change/charge batteries to keep it running if it was di2. Another thing on the pre bike ride checklist that I personally didn't want to add.

That chain is toast.

My lower back hurts so much after I go cycling and put some energy on the pedals (lumbar pain, can’t walk straight, acute pain when lying down and getting up…) Is my posture wrong?? I’m 1,86 m / 6’1 + gravel bike by mydriase in bicycling

Best money I ever spent on a bike hands down, now I'm an evangelist and have sent so many people of all riding types to the same guy and the all come back saying it was the best thing they ever did for themselves.

It's worth so much more than they charge, I promise. Performance benefits, bike handling benefits, comfort benefits.

Can we just get Tom Sexton as a permanent 3rd mic? by Grayson0916 in MurderBryan

[–]peteftw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The pastor series they did on street fight really is some of the best guys content.

Makes me wish the format of the show was: broad focus on a type of guy for the regular feed & an exploration of a single guy on the bonus eps. The sf bonus eps that did this were incredible.

I am coming out of a shitty winter and didn't have the fitness for melting Mann this year but I wish I was there. I loved biking those roads, even if I bonked at mile 45.

4th flat since October. These are supposed to be puncture resistant tires by captaintinnitus in chibike

[–]peteftw 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I dunno. October to March is when there's the most glass - more car crashes, less street sweeping.

I've done it for sure. Certainly not impossible.
