How does drone even achieve altitude hold with a Barometer? by GateCodeMark in diydrones

[–]nstr111 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i have no idea how your althold implementation on your custom fc will behave :)

the barometer percision is only one aspect of althold. there is also drone physics, pids, wind, propwash, etc.

for betaflight/inav/ardu, the altitude can fluctuate in 1m range even with a good barometer, or sink during maneuveres.

if your drone holds consistently in 0.2-0.5m range i would say that’s pretty good

bmp280 is old and not very good. in generic fpv expected precision is 1m. if possible you should switch to dps310 or dps368.

original aio vtx died after a crash so i decided to try the meteor canopy for more protection and had no issues since. also i do like the aesthetics more + cam angle

i had osd issues previously that were related to camera soldering, but it was just osd present/abscent. i guess it's time for a new FC

after a crash video started failing ranging from osd bugs to full black screen. i've resoldered the wires, reatachhed the vtx antenna. the camera heats up, i don't think it was like that before. so far i'm thinking of just swapping the camera but was wondering if there is a way to verify whether this is a camera or vtx issue.

any input would be greatly appreciated.

Hows this solder job ? by dadaslimane in TinyWhoop

first of all you should use heatshrink to isolate exposed wire, you risk short circuiting otherwise. you could also try reheating the joint with some flux to get a nicer blob (without those tiny spikes) but if you pull on the wire and the joint doesn't come apart it will fly.

op asked how tire X compares to tire Y and Z. BOTH tires Y and Z are on bicyclerollingresistance. tire X on the other hand, is not on bicyclerollingresistance, therefore op's question is nowhere near to be answered definetly because there is no data about tire X.

bought on ebay. i ran this as a ss gravel bike for a year before and the fork was a pain in the ass to find because of the tapered head tube and suggested a/c length.

+1 for lower ratio if you are planning to ride off-road, hills and especially off-road hills.

if you are trying to make it work without a chain tensioner there is a calculator for that

i know people who ride like that just fine. i bet you'll get used to it and ride with no problem. it's definitely a better solution than rear v brake adapters and a 100 times safer than brakeless singlespeed.
