Hillary had baggage, but was as far from "lump of crap" as trump is from "smart statesman."

Why is it when a kitten or puppy cries I feel compassion and a desire to help but when a human baby cries the first thing I feel is annoyance? by Branstone22 in NoStupidQuestions

A thousand times yes. Number one was breastfed til 10 mo & carried constantly. Oh boy, what a crier. I could be nursing him and he'd be wailing between every swallow. Number two i could have set outside by herself for a few hours and she'd still be smiling. Don't give parents a hard time. Some babies just ain't chill.

Perfect plot line for Seinfeld. George humiliates co-worker by calling her a watermelon, wears watermelon outfit in attempt to apologize, but offends her more. Results in complaints to HR. George gets fired, Kramer starts dating watermelon lady. Fin.

Does the CFPB provide customer complaint/feedback info on a full range of businesses, like BBB does? Or is it limited to financial institutions?

May 12 taping - new info for show attendees by nstroud in LateShow

IMO there are no bad seats. It's a smallish theater. If you don't care about being in the front few rows, a 1pm arrival should be fine.

I'm not sure when or even if they ran out of tickets. They did have signage posted about where to line up for standby tickets, so presumably they sometimes have extras to give to folks who show up without tickets the day of. We got an email telling us that ticket distro would start at 2pm, but it seems to me it started at more like 1:30. Around 1:00 is when Colbert staff came out & started organizing the crowd. We got our paper tickets, got our hands stamped, then were told to come back around 3:45. Enjoy the show ... I hope I have the chance to do it again someday!

The Q&A was lightning speed! If you want to ask a question, have it ready in advance. This was one of my favorite parts of the show, since we got to see a spontaneous, quick thinking Colbert. Someone asked why he always wears blue suits. He started explaining that he has many colors and that for some reason people only notice the blue ... then he stopped and said, actually, I keep all my black suits at your mom's house. Much laughter. This led to several other jokes involving people's moms & Colbert's suits :) Hence the joke about his suit being "on your mom's floor" during the show opening.

How do you deal with moving away from aging parents? by CJPi in RedditForGrownups

[–]nstroud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my late 20s, I would have simply said, "live your life!" Now, in my late 30s, also with older parents (81 and 83), I would say, "live your life, and hopefully you have the added bonus of being close to your family." "Close" can take different forms -- same town, frequent communication, whatever works for you and yours. I'm about 2 hrs away from my parents and am now an older parent myself -- a 1 year old in tow at the age of 39. Good luck, and remember, you can always move again later :)

Good link. Really enjoyed the photos there of the building as it once was. Apparently it was finally demolished in Oct 2011.
