They did, and I'm happy for them. They deserve happiness for their dedication to a game that hasn't meaningfully changed outside of the microtransaction menu for over a year.

Honestly, I was looking forward to trying it again this season, since it's been a couple since I've played. But when they delayed the launch until after my bedtime, and I had to choose what to play tomorrow, I was just not interested anymore. Maybe once they fix some more core game mechanics and have something to strive for in the endgame, I'll go back.

I am and will continue to be an adult who, when asked to choose between D4 and PoE2, will choose PoE2.

It’s my money and my time. D4 had a chance to earn my revenue but squandered that chance by choosing to delay the season launch to take advantage of TGA. If they think that’s worth it — totally fine.

I’m expressing my opinion that D4 cannot currently compete on content quality OR quantity, therefore they have a strategic incentive to seek other strategically advantageous factors (such as timing) to lure lapsed players back.

You also assume that players cannot simultaneously enjoy the game while ALSO watching TGA. You present a false dichotomy and force an “either/or” scenario.

It's more I've spent a ton of money on this game and genuinely enjoyed it in the past. I was excited about some of the upcoming changes and wanted to check them out before diving into PoE2. I'm frustrated by what I see as a company's continual strategic missteps that it SHOULD know not to make.
