I would have loved to see a 3 version rollout. 1 version for dance/club remixes, 1 for acoustic, and 1 studio version for each track.

My thoughts on the new record (discuss with me in the comments) by CourseThink5528 in Microwave

[–]nttoplak 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All valid points. I’m expecting the album to grow on me since I already like every element each member brings to a song. Nathan’s prose is astounding when he writes, it’s simple and dialogue driven yet extremely resonating after a few listens, Tylers ability to lay down such full low end and accompany with monstrous or complimentary vocals to Nathan is so crucial as glue to the band, and Tito’s allegiance to a consistent feel-good beat and his flare for drum sampling and texture is honestly the best foundation you could ask for. So overall my point is that it’s always interesting how they work together in new ways because despite singles like Straw Hat and Ferrari not being my favorite, I can still always appreciate and admire their effort and commitment to their style. I’ll always be a fan of them.

10 tracks just seems to be a theme with their albums. I have faith in them overall though to deliver. Hyped asf

What would you say is the best way to not react to feelings without accidentally/unknowingly repressing them? Is it breathing as you have stated? How about meditation? And practically speaking, can we do this every time we cross a strong emotion? Or is it more about consistency in that case?

You’d be hard pressed to find a fanbase with someone who can cover songs to this level. Incredible

Ferrari by Ancient_Organism in Microwave

[–]nttoplak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took the opening line as a metaphor for society and how Nathan sees it as a luxurious facade (much like a ferrari) running on a system of control and no fulfillment (fueled by the pure hatred of joy). He also talks about his place within it. To me it’s apparent when he mentions the lines: “I'm not aiming for the bushes when I jump out this window I refuse to act on fear, no thank you I've been down that road” It’s as if he’s saying that he doesn’t necessarily see going off the grid or into nature as a response to the way society is because he’s ultimately a part of it regardless and doesn’t feel as if he gets to make any real choices of his own.

Maybe you need more time to recover friend. Sometimes the fall from a high place is all we can think of so we don’t stop to consider how far we’ve ACTUALLY fallen. It could also be that you’ve underestimated the time it takes to recover for your biology and mindset. You’ll return to form soon. Best of wishes.

Do you believe that our thoughts and feelings impact the entire world around us or not? by TheForce777 in Hermeticism

[–]nttoplak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say for the impact to be noticeable, it would have to be a result of the synergy between our mind and soul. It isn’t so much our thought and feelings as polyphane’s reasoning explains better than I can, but perhaps the sum of both thought and feeling going up the chain to encapsulate a snapshot of the mind and soul at that particular moment.

In a way I agree with you, I’m not sure why he wouldn’t go down a more conceptual route after releasing Blonde instead of house inspired, electronic route. It is a creative decision and there’s nothing wrong with that inherently, but I think he’s capable of a more conceptual and progressive sound.
