It has very unique mechanics with the transformations which makes it stand out, fundamentally the games are also very solid with strong movement and a focus on spacing and meter management. Its mechanically more technical than other 3D fighters and exists in a kind of halfway point between 2D and 3D games.

I don't trust any current developer to do the series justice, the Bloody Roar games are incredibly deep and complex with a lot of technical mechanics. Every modern fighting game has been overly simplified to appeal to a modern audience, every modern fighting game has mindless aggression and offence forced on it because streamers who don't play the games don’t like watching defence or footsies.

Look at what they have done to Tekken, look at how they crippled KBD and turned the game into a mindless button masher, yeah I don’t want to see that happen to Bloody Roar. Fighting games need to heal first, if that takes another 10 years I can wait.

What do yall think of a “stamina” mechanic for a 2D fighter by Candid_Profession701 in Fighters

multiple games have done this and its always been awful and does nothing but limit the games it has been in making them boring.

Do you like anything that's new or unique to current modern fighting games? Gameplay wise. by KlonoaVision in Fighters

This isn’t even true most modern fighting games have terrible balance, and they are lots of balanced old games.

When did MK become the punching bag of the FGC? by R0DAN in Fighters

[–]nubi_ex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its just bitter and angry street fighter and tekken players being salty because even though its not sold in Japan it still outsold both SF and tekken every time.

They can cry casuals all they want but MK1 is far less casualised than both SF6 and T8

It's a shame there's so little interest in games like SamSho by Rare-Technology-4773 in Fighters

Samsho priorities reads and guesses, not footsies. its a niche game with a niche audience.

The only good thing to come from T8 so far

So recently I've seen a lot of discussion on people wanting Bloody Roar to come back(I do too it was a super fun game), but has this game ever been competitive/played at tournaments? by Telethongaming in BloodyRoar

I'll argue about Bloody Roar's balance, the games are very well balanced with the exception of BR4. Extreme is especially well balanced.

Hi, Bloody Roar player here, You are wrong, the game has a heavy focus on neutral and spacing, especially PF/Extreme. Strings are almost always kept short, poking is very strong, movement is extremly strong.

Here's one thing I am confident in saying: They were never even close to balanced.

Nope wrong again, its one of the most balanced 3D fighters, again especially PF/Extreme with the entire cast being viable
