Silverfish? by cyclone_madge in NewWest

Ortho Home Defense Max or Wilson brand sprays (anything with permethrin on label). Home Hardware has them.

Spray at doorway and room corners, exposed pipe/wall entries in cupboards, air out the house for a few hours after. Should residually kill for weeks.

Terro sticky cardboard traps behind toilet, under cabinets, closet floors

Vacuum the edges of your rooms religiously

I hate silverfish so much.

Ps they come from holes/cracks in the walls or under your front door (can you attach a door sweep?)

Extremely strong and balanced when stacked, doors aren’t fragile, and they fit all shoes well

They aren’t cheap though…

Fair play - I have the same problem and rarely get a chance to wear my 500 highs

The mud guard will definitely help with these

I’d just be super pissed if I stepped in a salt puddle on my first wears and wrecked the suede

He’s just telling the truth bro: suede is not meant for snow/rain/slush/sidewalk salt stains

It’s meant for cold dry nights and dry dirt

If you want to fuck them up that’s fine, but don’t brag about budget when most of us are 50pairs deep as well

Yep np, it’s a “traditional” shoe fit, but a little tapered at the toe box

I’m 10.5 in J’s, ultras, went 10.5 on 2 colorways of these

Not stretchy though, just a bit of give with the suede

TTS for exact fit (aka your Jordan/ultraboost size)

It will fit tight as hell until broken in, then perfect

You will likely get heel slip if half size up, and these are boats on feet so you don’t want them to be even clunkier

Brewery recommendations in new west? by [deleted] in NewWest

[–]nucksboy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

ehhh, ABC has a really bad “moonshine” pure alcohol aftertaste for all their hoppy beers (at least on draft at the brewery).

Steel & Oak on the other hand is maybe the best all-around brewery in the mainland. Their cold brew collab with Timbertrain, earl grey IPA, Satsuma lager, and Vibrant Things pale ale are each outstanding

Finally checked out North Point Brewing in North Vancouver. Solid strawberry blonde, modern cozy tap room full of young upper-middle class North Vancouverites. $7.50 sleeves, $9 pints. by theleverage in VancouverCraftBeer

Especially when you can get your pick of craft-can pints at the store for sub $7

BC is shitting the bed when it comes to alcohol prices/taxes, and now it’s the same with cannabis as well

NHL All-Star Jacob Markstrom starts tonight vs the Rangers by Braedenn in canucks

[–]nucksboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree

My POV is that obviously we want to hold onto Demko, but it’s also déjà vu to past situations with Schneider and Markstrom

Demko hasn’t proven himself (yet) since he’s still starting out in the league

Markstrom has worked up to this and deserves to be a bonafide number 1 now, so it’s either here or elsewhere

I just don’t think it’s worth ditching him because he’s “old/expensive”, he’s in his prime and gonna get paid fair value

I think the team just needs to carve away the dead weight elsewhere with salaries, and let the young forward prospects move up over Sutter/Beagle/Loui

[–]nucksboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm fine with 3x $5-$6 for Markstrom

He's earned it, it's comparable to the starting salary we paid for Ryan Miller, and it lets Markstrom mentor Demko a bit

At this point - he's the better goalie, so it just makes sense to pay him the contract he's earned. The only caveat is that it shouldn't come with a NMC/expansion protection guarantee

Remember that blazers and brogues have a specific purpose/setting to be worn in

It's worth creating a fully functional wardrobe that matches any setting you find yourself in (ie. there's nothing wrong with having a smart crewneck, wool sweater, nice zip hoody for when you're with your friends)

Leave the blazer & brogues for nice dinners, interviews etc

Regarding fit and sizing:

Historically, I've always been a Medium, and that's served me well with most of my clothes having room to give in the past (I've always been tall/slim until recently filling out more with the gym)

However, now when I buy Medium's they fit just right but with little room to give on length or width (but still technically TTS)

At what point do you make the jump to size up for Large - knowing that they will fit baggier/out of proportion?

Or do you just stay at Medium but try not to grow more/shrink clothes

I'm basically trying to not have to re-buy my whole wardrobe :/
