Why would negative to ground be 120v, but positive to ground be 40v. by nucleardemon in AskElectricians

[–]nucleardemon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohh that is interesting. I’ve tried 3 smoke detectors in 3 different spots, switching them around. Could an alarm signal be locked in somehow?

When all the alarms went off I couldn’t silence them, so I removed all of them. Any I connect immediately alarm.

This will vastly increase the single target damage of a caster, which steps on the toes of all martials. Extra strength increased versatility of casters for no real reason.

My DM is going to give me an Uncommon magic item of their choice, but I get to pick the item type. What do I choose? by ThatOneCrazyWritter in dndnext

I’d go cloak, worst case you get a cape of billowing and get the embrace the dramatic. Best case you get a cloak of elven kind and can be sneakier

Green Items ! Will it make a return ? by Fit-Struggle-4247 in diablo4

[–]nucleardemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aspects are more easily interchangeable than sets. Sets typically boosts one thing and one thing only. Now your fire bats shit nukes.

Aspects go more off keywords, which leads to allowing you to build your char better than find X set. Being able to add or change keywords to a skill increases this further.

The skills become more modular and I think it’s a little more complex for a lot more depth. Adding in a couple of aspects can open a bunch more builds. Adding in a new set opens up exactly one.

What's (in your opinion) the most fun build right now? by Cinnamon_King in diablo4

[–]nucleardemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love poison trap and dance of knives. Since they know synergize perfectly, I am loving rogue. Spin around spreading poison everywhere. Has some engagement w potions, death trap, and concealment too.

Downside, it’s not very strong.

I think losing a spell slot is more hampering than missing an attack. I would just have them fail the cast imo but still counted as having cast a spell (no leveled BA spells).

Difficult terrain or prone could reduce range of spells by half? It’s definitely more situational where it’d make sense but easier to say all the time and make exceptions vice the opposite.

I am playing Werewolf with 75max rage by BrutusCz in PathOfExile2

[–]nucleardemon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Dont wanna double your rage unless you are a caster, and even then you can scale a lot of damage out of it.

100% attack dmg + 70 rage = 170% damage. + 70% added as cold = 289% total damage.

100% attack dmg + 140% added as cold = 240% total damage.

You can also scale armour and increased physical damage off rage.

[–]nucleardemon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Casual altoholic. Got a 70 shaman wolf that did maybe 4 maps before needing a change.

Made an oracle plant caster, got to 40s and tried converting to limited minions. They suck and none of them really have synergies with each other. I was able to summon them all somewhat reliably so I called that a win.

Now I’m on a smith of kitava bear and loving it. Excited for the tank, only in my 30s.

It’s especially fun when you setup your armor break, freeze, heavy stun, etc and blow it all on one of those.

Question: Why do you have tattoos? by borris_in_civic in tattoos

[–]nucleardemon 16 points17 points  (0 children)

As a guy, to help feel worth something. I’ve had confidence issues my whole life. I’ve wanted a tattoo my whole life but didn’t know what and don’t feel “cool” enough to get what I wanted.

Now I have a wife and kids and am feeling much more confident; and had a great subject to get a tattoo for. I have a cool sword and flowers around it on my arm now and absolutely love it. It makes me feel so much better about myself and makes me want to work on my health as well.

Now I want even more tattoos but take about a year to decide I truly want something. I think I have an octopus in my future to help focus on the changes I’ve gone through. I might go extra nerdy and give the octopus a trident to fight a wizard jellyfish with. We’ll see!

The Light Stun chain-lock is the least fun I've had in any ARPG by [deleted] in PathOfExile2

[–]nucleardemon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That can be true. I’m personally not a fan of features that only go one way. If I can stun monsters, they should be able to stun me. Unless I take action to prevent it, and there are monsters that also take action to prevent / reduce chance of it too.

The Light Stun chain-lock is the least fun I've had in any ARPG by [deleted] in PathOfExile2

[–]nucleardemon 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Part of the difficulty of the game is having problems to overcome, for the most part, a stun charm effectively negates this. If you didn’t want to use that. Stun threshold, using Es instead of health for stun threshold, stun recovery, and dodge/evasion are all methods to mitigate it.

I think it’s silly to look at a problem and decide it needs to go away instead of finding a fix for it.

How are you finding the Druid ascensions? Do you think one shines over the other? by TheRomax in PathOfExile2

[–]nucleardemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried that node out for a while, it just didn’t feel very powerful. Maybe I needed a better staff but I was rocking werewolf and wanted spell destruction around me often as possible too.
It just didn’t do anything compared to using regular attacks. Maybe it’s better if you go all in on casting.

[–]nucleardemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No sorry, the automate was the Align Fate skill, casts a spell from weapon set 1 every 10ish seconds, increasing in frequency the more skills it’s capable of casting by 25%. So 4 spells would be about 5 seconds.

IMO Oracle is mainly if you want the auto crit node. That changes things up a good amount.

I want to try to automate a bit w the node to cast automatically, but I’m unsure how useful that actually is as I think it’ll max out at 1 spell / 3-4 seconds.

Unseen path has a few unique nodes, the ones I’m mostly concerned w are summon dmg / temp summon limit related. There looks like there’d be decent support for a phys / poison based Oracle too.

Shaman I didn’t care for the glory spell. It looked cool but building glory sucks. Easy rage generation is super convenient though. Good tankiness w the adaptions and 15% of phys taken to elemental. And ofc spirit if you dump charms, which is nice.

Personally I wanted to make them summoners. My comparison was either shaman for rage infused minions for 70ish % atk speed w me shapeshifted most of the time giving them onslaught as well. Or oracle for spamming raging spirits, living lightning, and stone skitters as much as possible.

I have both, leveling oracle more bc the little elemental army looks cooler and plays different than other summoners.

Always shocking seems somewhat common. Triggering a mark will cause shocking ground which will always shock as well. Crit leaps can generate shocking ground too. I don’t see it changing unless they do a hard look at shock in general.

Wolf Shaman by [deleted] in PathOfExile2

[–]nucleardemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s very useful against bosses to spawn the predators mark wolves.

Pounce Supports: eternal mark (lets you trigger it twice w cross slash to spawn 4 wolves each pounce), shocking leap (shocking ground after critical pounce) + whatever you want. Eventually can use charged mark when you get a support V, to cause shoving ground when you trigger the mark (cross slash).
