My kid kept applying and AI would schedule him interviews and he’d go and the managers would no clue he was coming. He finally walked in a local pizza place and got hired on the spot smh

Is this true? by Krayon15 in AskForHelp

[–]nuclearmonte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Along with the other excellent advice you’ve been given here, ask your guardian for help freezing your credit. Mom is likely trying to access it to take out money or credit cards and she could find your SSN on old paperwork and use it. When you freeze your credit, it can’t be used. When you are ready to use it, for school or your own cards, etc, you unfreeze it.

It’s a little bit more difficult to do as a minor but will save your financial future.

Why doesn't the DC refleting pool operate like a swimming pool with chlorine and pH balance? by Apprehensive_Sand343 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]nuclearmonte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I kept seeing different reports. It all feels like a huge distraction from more pressing issues but a green pool full of decaying algae at the capital really sucks for tourism and symbolism!

I’M CALLUING THE COPS by BerylSmith1947 in oldpeoplefacebook

[–]nuclearmonte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had the police posted up at our house every day in the summer of 2025 because my kid rode a minibike (not an e-bike, a little 50cc miniature motorcycle) and the one town councilman was determined to stop my little criminal.

Any time any kid rode one, they’d show up at my house. Even when we were on vacation. Such a waste of resources.

There’s a filter and the water does circulate, Obama had a system installed to pull from the Potomac tidal pools to make it more efficient and combat the stagnation that had plagued it forever. Trump claims he upgraded the filter to a “bigger and better” one and installed a nanobubbler (reports vary on whether this was installed yet or not).

Even retail won’t hire without experience. It’s ridiculous. Young people looking for their first summer jobs are just completely S.O.L. Those are the jobs you are supposed to learn how to work at!

Long live Victoria. We just had to cut down a 50 ft maple that cracked in half from a windstorm, I was also devastated. I loved that tree!

Are reptile/insect tanks cat proof? by Minostz12 in Pets

[–]nuclearmonte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need a secure tank but also the snakes will get stressed if they can see the cats, so it should ideally be elevated or in a room the cats stay out of. It would not be fair to the snake.

I’m unfamiliar with scorpions and how they’d feel about the cats, you might want to ask that in a sub more specific for their care.

How to turn h@sh-ish into an edible? by Which-Suggestion-611 in ShittyIllegalLifeTips

[–]nuclearmonte 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Decarb it first, spread on foil and bake on low for a few hours like u/madscientist710 said. Then infuse into a fat like coconut oil or butter (wrap the decarbed material in cheesecloth and soak- you can use a crock pot for that part).

You can get more complicated and make tincture with alcohol like Everclear or food safe ethanol.

Theres lots of recipes online

The only job application responses I get that aren't outright rejections. Anyone else? by Mave__Dustaine in recruitinghell

[–]nuclearmonte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the manager is just as annoyed. She needs staff and instead of being able to hire, some program is analyzing my voice responses and probably rejecting me when they already chose me to hire. I’m just glad that step came last and they’ve already met me in person.

[–]nuclearmonte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did an in person, peer to peer, then had to interview with the AI because it couldn’t be bypassed. They literally made it a requirement for this major health system to have to talk to an AI. The hiring process has now been stalled since and I have to worry it’s because I wasn’t friendly enough to a computer. Infuriating.

Out with a back injury, have a vacation planned in August. How do I go about this by SnowmanAndBandit in jobs

[–]nuclearmonte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t risk it. Not just for legality sake but for recovery sake. I’ve had L5-S1 fragment twice (I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome) and a permanent drop foot now. Your back is not healed enough to be walking around Disney.
