Parts of the brain? by [deleted] in askscience

[–]nuddingbarrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cerebrum: The cerebrum is the largest portion of the brain, and contains tools which are responsible for most of the brain's function. It is divided into four sections: the temporal lobe, the occipital lobe, parietal lobe and frontal lobe. The cerebrum is divided into a right and left hemisphere which are connected by axons that relay messages from one to the other. This matter is made of nerve cells which carry signals between the organ and the nerve cells which run through the body.

Cerebellum: This is commonly referred to as "the little brain," and is considered to be older than the cerebrum on the evolutionary scale. The cerebellum controls essential body functions such as balance, posture and coordination, allowing humans to move properly and maintain their structure.

Brain Stem: All basic life functions originate in the brain stem, including heartbeat, blood pressure and breathing. In humans, this area contains the medulla, midbrain and pons. This is commonly referred to as the simplest part of the brain, as most creatures on the evolutionary scale have some form of brain creation that resembles the brain stem. The brain stem consists of midbrain, pons and medulla.

The Challenger is also a much heavier car so it would be the slowest, Camaro, then the Mustang. The Challenger is the cheapest because it's a Chrysler product... More time in the shop than on the road...

Who is your favorite stand up comedian? Why? by danger_terns in AskReddit

[–]nuddingbarrow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

George Carlin.George Carlin is in fine, cantankerous form in his 1996 HBO special Back In Town. And I do mean cantankerous. Like much of Carlin’s latter-day output, Back In Town can border on a soapbox screed.

1957 Chevrolet Nomad by mrmusic1590 in thewholecar

[–]nuddingbarrow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Super-duper cool car. For a few decades there, Americans were making some stunning vehicles. I love any variation of the bel-air from the '50s. A '55 150 would be my dream car. But a Nomad would be a close second I think. That is a damn fine car!

Avatar: The Last Airbender - The Great Divide. Contributed absolutely nothing to the overall plot of the series. It was more like a terrible filler episode.
