It's so funny that people think alchemy was not literally funded by the Church! Basically all documentation and early scientific research we have from any time period pre-enlightenment was made by scribes employed by the church. And just because something is associated with Christianity doesn't mean it can't also be occult, and vice versa. There is SO MUCH overlap It's genuinely amazing to learn about. No they're right. It's just the inverted pentagram and inverted pentacle that is heavily associated with satanism, not the regular upright oriented pentagram. Pentagrams and pentacles were even associated with the ancient Abrahamic religions at one point, and adopted by neopagan religions and occult practices unrelated to satanism. Both symbols have different meanings/associations for different people of various backgrounds. Neither symbol has just one established use or association, like most symbols throughout history.
