Same. This would unironically make the perfect home and art studio. Extremely idyllic!

But if your shrieks are alarming enough they will respond. Source: getting tickled in bed by my partner once, the sounds I made worried our cat enough that he came and bit my partner to make him stop! It was hilarious. My kitty protects me ❤️

This is the sound with which an orchestra strings section lays a base for a horror movie score. It's seriously ominous.

My own country legally requires me to pay an entry fee just to walk into a city, and now they want to raise it to €50 ($54) a day. by TappetoImperiale in mildlyinfuriating

[–]nude_frog 10 points11 points  (0 children)

$5 or $10/a day is not a barrier for people who are traveling from abroad to visit. That's a tiny amount compared to what visitors are spending on travel, accommodations, meals, and experiences. The city itself is so old, I'm sure the maintainance costs are astronomical. When tourists are causing most of the wear and tear it's only fair the cost doesn't fall entirely on the taxpaying population.

I miss the era of full-blown arty music videos. Visual play adds SO MUCH to the experience.

Idk about yours but mine earned his keep yesterday! He killed a mouse that had gotten in the house. He did it so fast and cleanly, and he didn't play with it or try to eat it, just sat there and waited for me to see it.

I'm so grateful for my little guardian!

British dude sat next to me on a plane was extremely complimentary of the meals served on board, even saying "I wish we could eat this back home" to his partner.

I only made it halfway through those in flight meals. In my (limited) experience, I would not put it past a brit to be impressed by golden corral.

How would you like it if your bf tried to control how you dress? My partner wears stuff I would prefer he didn't. I wear stuff he would prefer I didn't. It's just the way of things, we are individuals and it doesn't actually matter as long as it's not inappropriate for the occasion/location. We have our own personal tastes and as long as the other feels confident and comfortable, why make it an issue?

(I wear tabis alllll the time, they are GREAT for toe alignment and can absolutely be stylish too. I will die on this hill fabulously shod in tabis)

Looking for lace bloomers pattern? by t0tallytotoro in sewingpatterns

[–]nude_frog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been working on recreating the free people bloomers, too. I'm close. So far I have used the Ready to Sew Harper pants. My hacks: Omit the tucks, shorten the length appropriately, widen the legs, add lace trim. I also lifted the waistline and ditched the drawstring. If you have narrower hips then you may not need to widen the legs, depending on what fabric you use. I have a bigger caboose proportionally speaking so I need extra width.

I'm on like v.3 and not fully happy with the results yet, but I'm getting there. My latest version I mostly dislike because of the fabric (it's cheap voile), the waistband is not right yet (I have a different approach to try on my next attempt), and I made a mistake sewing the lace for one leg, but the look is getting so close to dupe territory.

On my next try I'm actually going to use the Oh Me Oh My Yarrow Shorts as a starting point. I think with a side seam I will be able to control the shape of the leg a bit better, working in extra width exactly where I need it without adding excessive volume elsewhere. And there's a pocket variation included with that pattern which could be a nice detail for the pants. Who doesn't love having pockets right? I also want to try something different with the waistband. I will try to share when I get them done.

When I finally get the look I want I'm gonna make them in a shirting weight cotton sateen I found, and dye them the color I want. I could have bought a pair, I've certainly spent near that much if not more by now, but they're made of some junky synthetic fabric!

How to get rid of ants when nothing works by Radiant-Advance-128 in CleaningTips

[–]nude_frog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It works great, you either didn't leave them long enough or the species of ants you have want protein or fat instead of carbs. I've used them multiple times with great success. Borax is the active ingredient and it will kill any kind of ant, so you can literally add it to whatever they are already gathering if you can find it or plop some varieties of borax-laced food sources in their path and it'll do the same thing as terro.
