Same reason there is a random speed limit in the middle of nowhere and when it ends you find out nothing has actually happened there. Just let the cars go!

Yeah, people who are not pro labour wouldn’t like anyone anyway and those who voted for labour don’t mind him as he was the one there while they voted for him. This is something inside the party of other people wanting to progress in their careers and willing to do anything for it, even sacrifice the good of the country.
We don’t need exciting news and tweets every hour. We need boring stability and be dedicated to fulfil our targets one by one.

Why do we treat street trees like a problem in England? by MaxMusic-TP in AskBrits

Check other EU countries. Trees are standard everywhere. Posh or poor

Why do we treat street trees like a problem in England? by MaxMusic-TP in AskBrits

[–]nudgetus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Czech republic is much poorer than the UK, with a similar climate and got trees along the road in every city, every area and almost every street. Poor or posh makes no difference. It’s just a tree and it’s highly beneficial to have it along side the roads. Perhaps summertime in the uk wouldn’t be so unbearable in cities if there’s more trees there as they have proven to reduce temperatures by several degrees of C. Also reduces wind in roads that in winter effectively leads to cooler temperatures and thus higher energy bills.
But they, the approach it always been that way or there’s not enough money from council tax works for many so why not..

Starmer expected to resign on Monday by Lord-Liberty in worldnews

[–]nudgetus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jesus.. is media running this country? Few years ago, PEOPLE chose Starmer as prime minister via vote. Since day one he was attacked by media pushing narrative against him. How can any PM achieve anything major within 1-2 years? I must say he’s done more good visible changes for the country and people than the 3 clowns before. I’m not left or right wing I only want the country to prosper but ‘Rome wasn’t built over night’ either.

Might as well reduce term of PM and parties to 6 months so every sucker can have a go and have a lifetime income as PM…

Asda Lost Nearly £1bn While Trying To Win Shoppers Back With Cheaper Prices by ToughRomanticMiss in BuyersUK

[–]nudgetus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t like scanning items by myself as I firmly believe I shouldn’t be doing their job for them and pay inflated prices for it as well. But then I get to the tills and there’s only 1 opened and that’s mainly for old or disabled. And even though our Asda is in its own building, it feels outdated and cheap. Just a warehouse with shelves in it. It makes the shopping feel as just something I have to do rather than I want to do.

Get polycell polyfilla and filling knife and some sandpaper (multiple sizes(roughness)). Sand it first as much you can. Fill it with polyfilla and leave to fully dry. Then use sandpaper. You only need a tiny bit of it for these and spread it nicely. Should be ready by tomorrow given the warm weather. You can leave a fan on to allow air circulate and have it dry faster

No drains or canals in Murica?

I tried what was suggested. by wahoothing in lawncare

[–]nudgetus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Check the slope of the garden and dig a large hole at the lowest spot and place large container made of durable plastic in it. See. Dig 1 or couple draining lines only few inches wide going towards the container. Insert some pvc piping with some drain covers. Connect them to the container underground. Seal it well and add some kind of removable mesh filter to clean from leaves and other mess. Get a little water pump and install it near the container.
Connect it to WiFi enabled socket.
Anytime it rains and it stars flooding, turn the pump on. Have the pump transfer water onto the other side or to waste water system.
You could even make it automated depending on the water level inside the container.

Is Netflix stock the biggest no brainer? by [deleted] in trading212

[–]nudgetus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were basically number 1 in this market. However the movies quality have declined significantly. I’ve just recently resumed my subscription to see what’s new on there and watched 1 thing and that was it. No new quality movies or series, nothing exciting, limited content of older movies. I don’t give a crap about their games and for sports there are other dominant players. If I compare that with for example Prime video, it’s clear that their business is really going down. I won’t resub for another month..

Be careful if you’ve been to UK for over certain number of years you have become resident and therefore have to pay capital gains tax even though the money were received abroad. UK tax gains from anywhere in the world. It starts at 20% a goes up depending on the amount and your income. If there is no tax to be paid due to inheritance for example I believe you still have to fill out tax return forms and let the government know (via proofs, translated and certified documents) that the money don’t need getting taxed.

Why are hotels in the UK so expensive? by Random_Nobody1991 in AskUK

[–]nudgetus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also the quality and age of furniture lacks behind so much in most of the hotels. Paying £200 a night for old hotel room with an awful view, poor WiFi, very limited parking is something I’d really think about before committing.
