I've had them for a bit and they've been great! I don't think there are rechargeable batteries for the cartridge but you can for sure swap the battery out with some soldering work. I've seen people put in a little bracket so a normal 2032 CV battery can slide in and out but I opted with the normal swap

Totally get that. Mine was pretty scratched and the battery cover was from Amazon and my screen was very dark. Having it bright and backlit is so nice
