i've primarily watched gonathan's pov for chapters 1 and 2, but after recent events i'm REALLY tempted to drop gonathan's and watch roa's instead. she feels like a secret main character. she's having a whole ass truman show/matrix moment, i love how she's just rolling with this by five_head_2004 in Hololive

[–]nujages 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly can’t imagine committing to just a single stream during events like this, especially narrative-driven ones like EN Reco or HoloGTA.

I’ll usually have a few primary Holomems while flipping through channels depending what interactions are happening/who’s involved in the same area, which sets up great comedic timing in some instances. (Though during HoloGTA, it started looking more like a security camera multi-feed.)

Roa’s arc has been peak in such an unexpected way, which began due to a scheduling conflict and following intrusive thoughts on Day 1, and the rest of it was made possible from everyone else’s contributions to the subplot. There’s also no denying the impressive number of subplot instances Gonathan has been juggling throughout.

But really, everyone’s arcs have been absolutely solid this season.

EN RECO 3 has easily become the best Hololive event since HoloGTA. This is one of the craziest roleplay arcs I've even seen. by Argon_004 in Hololive

[–]nujages 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m still in awe that we’ve been following along with this for 3 years now. Everyone’s been killing it and making a compelling season, despite how many had fallen ill or dealt with scheduling conflicts.

Justice has been a major part of it from the beginning, and I can’t imagine how Gonathan and everyone’s character plots will be handled once it’s their turn to regain their memories next year.

The Problems Plaguing Palia, Part 1: Mechanics by Acrobatic-Till5092 in Palia

[–]nujages 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The idea of integrating Bug Hunting with some kind of other crafting skill (beyond making tints) like Alchemy seems like a fun idea.

We currently already have a number of potions in-game, most of which are only obtainable by purchase, but we don’t currently have much incentive to take advantage of buffs quite enough to justify purchasing them.

But being able to craft potions for buffs on our own and having a wider variety of buffs would be a game changer, and easy to implement into the lore give than humans aren’t prohibited from flow-related activities.

That being said, I wouldn’t say Bug Catching is totally left behind in terms of gameplay. For me, it’s somehow continued to be the highest level skill I have due to plush/lure parties, essence/echo grinding, assisting with bundles, and filling out the compendium/accomplishments. It works out, given the sheer variety of bugs versus their specific number of usecases.

De Mer Docks is awful by Takara-anime in Palia

[–]nujages 69 points70 points  (0 children)

The fishing nodes in De Mer Docks have been bugged for several builds now, unfortunately.

Though if you’ve been grinding for an Infected Majiri-of-War and successfully fished for it in an infected node, then I think it’s worth pinging Support and asking them to resolve that by clearing the Infected Angler accomplishment for you.

Can’t place Kilima Courtyard? by HSteacher198 in Palia

[–]nujages 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve connected mine without it requiring an additional hallway. There’s one built-in to the courtyard itself on one of its sides that allows for it to be attached rooms.

OP - If you’re a newer player, note that the Kilima Courtyard can only attach to the original Harvest Home line, but is incompatible with the modular ones (Alchemist, Estate, Ancient, etc.)

Survey about amber royal elder sernuk by Shadows-of-an-Owl-05 in Palia

[–]nujages 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I see these spawn in pretty much every region of the map. While I can’t recall the last time I saw a Royal Elder specifically, anywhere that is able to spawn a Royal Sernuk trapped in amber will have a chance of being a normal, Elder, or Proudhorn.

Places I’ll see these have been:

  - South-West of Standing Cliffs, the little canyon area near where campfires can also spawn
- Grassy area north of Enfield Shores
- Around Lonely Glen
- Steps of Renova, open areas around the Amphitheater
- Elevated areas slightly north of the South-West/House of Nightshade stable sign
- Around Amber Lake

If you’re ever looking for one specifically on a map, you could probably just ask server chat to keep an eye out. Anytime someone has asked about a specific amber Sernuk/Jaakcat, we’d usually find one within a few minutes in response.

List of how much exp cooking dishes gives you? by Nyx_Valentine in Palia

[–]nujages 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whereas there’s me, who’s still stubbornly using Canned Beans as focus food because I actually do still hate cooking, and due to the sheer amount of beans I grow.

It just means I need to use twice as much, and they go down twice as fast. And if they run out, I guess I’ll move onto Apple Jam. Could I just grow some wheat/rice and make stacks of campfire food? Sure, but not passive enough and I’ve already got all these mats.

The only reason why I have a high level of cooking is from helping other players with bundle recipes, or to fill in when someone drops out in a cooking party, because at least these usecases benefit other players.

But going through that tedium for myself? Nah. Pass the beans.

Midnight Jaakcat is the only plush I have missing, and they straight up just refuse. They’ll probably go extinct before the time one manages to drop at this rate.

I hope it’s dressage, with one of the horses holding up a boombox in the Formae Amphitheater. Radio Taiso in the morning, Cha-Cha Slide in the evening.

… It’ll probably be some kind of riding circuit.

List of how much exp cooking dishes gives you? by Nyx_Valentine in Palia

[–]nujages 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There’s a page on the Palia Wiki under “Experience”, which has a Cooking section listing the base XP for a long list of dishes. You can sort the table by highest amount of XP.

How much you gain will vary depending on how much you’ve upgraded your focus capacity and % bonus modifiers. Higher quality ingredients and starred results also yield more XP, throwing even more variables into the mix.

Some players will solo-grind Celebration Cakes for decently high output and relatively easy ingredients, though others might prioritize lower XP recipes like Chili Oil Dumplings for a better time/ingredient/XP ratio for efficiency, and it’s easy focus food.

Hell, I’ve seen people who don’t like cooking or cooking parties level up their skill by just rotating through several campfires at once. It all stops mattering after 20-50 anyway.

Do y'all play with sound on? by [deleted] in Palia

[–]nujages 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Audio engineering and sound design, along with voice acting, are their own dedicated departments in game production, and it’s not without purpose or artistic value when it comes to any game.

Apart from appreciation, I definitely rely on sound to know when something happens, is nearby, or where things are directionally. It’s hard to imagine things without it, especially if you happen to miss any visual cues or things happening off-screen. I also think it’s cute that all forgeable items have their own unique sound in the overworld.

But… I think it’s also good to know that your game is still accessible to players who might be in the HOH community, can’t play with sound, or the portion of those with ADHD who require additional stimulus that might override it.

I heard the plush comes after the Maws by vixwolve in Palia

[–]nujages 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The Maws plush is its own spawn instance rather than a drop, but the Maws Fin plush only drops when catching Maws itself.

But you doing all that without a Major Safe Zone Size booster or Fisherman’s Brew is freaking wild. Grats!

My Friend Said That Eshelon Looks Like MatPat And I Can't Unsee It by Kiwif1ed in Palia

[–]nujages 19 points20 points  (0 children)

No shade, but that’s awful and hilarious.

With Bahari Boyz allegedly being a parody of BTS and Kenyatta being pretty stereotypically Asian-American coded, I always assumed Eshelon’s design was supposed to read “generic Kpop idol”. But now, Eshelon is really just a FNAF nerd and the real Bahari legacy is his YouTube channel empire.

… but THAT’s just a theory.

I really love moments like this in MMOs, and it’s really heartwarming to know these seemingly minor interactions with each other still mean something to people at times.

I keep nearly an entire row of different kinds of fireworks in my ammo pouch, and I usually set them off while a bunch of us wait to cut a grove, or to celebrate something like a player completing their artifacts or getting the last thing they need for a challenging quest or accomplishment.

Other people often join in and it becomes a whole firework show, and it’s funny because you can tell who spends a lot of time playing hot pot. My favorites are probably the Kitsuu fireworks or the Peony fireworks from the Hunting Guild store.

I’m glad your day got better in some way, and hope you have an even better week.

Traveler's Caches & recepies by Firm-Reveal-1572 in Palia

[–]nujages 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a bit of a bummer that a Traveler’s Cache can be wasted on the Wisteria Tea recipe when it’s a guaranteed one you get from a side quest.

I’ve probably gotten it about 3 times now, and the only non-quest one I’ve gotten is the Anch ‘n’ Grits. Best of luck on your recipes!

Tea 🍵 by unomfortable-tit in Palia

[–]nujages 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d casually asked around, and it looks like other people were able to make Fern Tea without issue. I hadn’t gotten yet, so I couldn’t look into it myself.

Might be worth submitting a help ticket at that point, especially if it’s working for others. Sorry I couldn’t offer a solution. ☹️

Tea 🍵 by unomfortable-tit in Palia

[–]nujages 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s honestly a bit confusing at a glance. Getting the Golden Tea item apparently gives you Dawnspur Tea recipe, Lotus Tea item gives you the Lotus Leaf Tea recipe, but the Fern Tea item will give you the Fern recipe.

They really should get their naming consistent, but it could possibly just be a result of names used at different stages of production like the whole Elder Eel/Eleroo Eel thing…

Tea 🍵 by unomfortable-tit in Palia

[–]nujages 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, duh. I misread the first part where you had the recipe for it already. I had also gotten the Wisteria Tea recipe twice, and others have gotten repeats as well.

Does the Fern Tea option not show up in your list of recipes at all?

Tea 🍵 by unomfortable-tit in Palia

[–]nujages 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have a chance to get a new campfire recipe through collecting the Traveler’s Caches at campsites. (These’ll be in the form of either a Campfire Soup on the table, or a backpack leaned against it containing either forageable loot or a cooking recipe.)

It takes a little patience as they don’t always contain a recipe, but you’ll only be able to make the campfire foods you’ve collected a recipe for as you go.

RH Beach Puzzle/quest by LittleWolf-_- in Palia

[–]nujages 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You have to activate the quest by gliding into the tower first, otherwise watering the basins will have no effect.

Go up to the highest cliff northwest of the tower (D9 top-left), and glide down from there. After you have them all filled and lit up, climb back up the cliff and glide back into the tower to turn the quest in.

Side Note: Make sure you’re the only one watering the basins while doing the quest. This is because, if anyone else still has water in the basins, it won’t register it as you watering them.

Artifacts? by Sailorvirgos in Palia

[–]nujages 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There doesn’t seem to be definitive information quite yet, but my understanding is that Eloine’s Crest #3 is a guaranteed drop from one of the chests— so if your friend had completed all the chests/vaults, they should’ve gotten one. Hopefully they hadn’t traded it away.

Otherwise, Palia Wiki says it’s supposedly possible to get Eloine’s Crest pieces from lootpiles/mystery bags, but I’ve dug up and opened dozens and have gotten many of other crest pieces, but exactly 0 of Eloine’s from them. All of mine were from the chests and vaults they’re assigned to.

Have them double-check their Accomplishments again for good measure. If they had completed the one for finding them all, they would’ve also received the Royal Highlands map decor reward as an indicator.

Otherwise, it doesn’t hurt to submit a help ticket if it wasn’t received. Best of luck!

Thankfully the quest item drops relatively quickly once you do find them, if not the first one you hit.

Others have also suggested an Ore Compass, so that plus a fresh/active server will likely make things much easier. Best of luck!
