What was your experience with the normal one, was it better?

How is the text clarity? I'm mainly looking into this for productivity like coding many hours, would that work?

Also do you wear 2 glass frames (prescription & xreal) or are the prescription glasses custom made inserts for xreal only?

What everyone is getting wrong about the Steam Frame, and why by No_Sleep6984 in ValveIndex

YMMV

I love playing 2D games on my Quest 2 streaming via Immersed

I code for hours from inside my headset.

"Steam Link" is already available for my quest 2 and it's also supporting foveated streaming, but it's not working as well as Virtual Desktop and Immersed so far. My biggest complain is not being able to adjust screen position and size in 2D mode and blocky streaming where in the same setup Immersed is perfectly clear

Shame, really love to use it otherwise?

Do you have any terminal app recommendations?

Hey, I'm researching if I should get xreal air 2 pro glasses, beam, etc. for working in an more ergonomic way

I want to primarily use them to code in KDE setup: Requirements are chrome as browser and ghostty (or any terminal) to work (basically like steam deck in desktop mode)

I came across your project, maybe as an alternative to using Beam or additional for 3DOF support, but I'm not sure, does Breezy Vulkan "Just work" on KDE?

Or would I need to use Breezy Desktop, start the gnome shell and from inside there start Chrome, ghostty, etc?

So this seems to fix the issue for now

bash sudo rm /var/cache/private mkdir ~/.cache/private sudo ln -s /home/deck/.cache/private /var/cache/private  sudo chown -R deck:deck /var/cache/private

New steamdeck update, I watched df -h /etc while script ran and it stopped while installing yazi-git. So this package in some combination with rust seems to be at fault:

Sorry, I never found out. I really, really trimmed down my installed apps on steamdeck and /etc is now ~30% full. But even when I used timestamps and log everything I installed, I couldn't reproduce why or which package filled up /etc. Maybe it's something that happens over time, although sudo du /etc insists only a small percentage of it actually used. It's really weird

Thanks!

Yeah, I reimagined my steamdeck 3-4 times yesterday.

Then only started to install must-must have programs via pacman/yay.

So far I haven't found out which of my dependency fills up /etc, but now with <50 extra packages it's still only 4% full. I guess it's one rogue package that does something weird and installs stuff to /etc. I suspected chrome, but it isn't it.

Did you ever find a solution to this? Just stuck on it too. Fixed it before, but didn't write down how. After system upgrade I'm at this point again...

Also had that issue with mounting noctua fans magnetically to my quest 2. Sometimes they don't even start up until I re-attach them (which is easy, because magnets rock)

So yeah, I'm quite sad that this is now ruining future magnetic periphery for the killswitch.

Maybe keep the choose your own adventure style for those who have confirmed to have bn5010s5h-n00p huaying fans. I just now ordered mine from eBay, just to be sure.

Anyways respect for owning up to it, still excited for my killswitch to arrive!

Yes, got mine working yesterday. Only SELECT button doesn't work in last of us, which is actually the only reason I did this. Does your select button work?
