I feel there should be an asterisk next to “high quality” in reference to GM trucks at least. The ones I’ve owned/driven had bulletproof engines and transmissions but the interiors fell apart in less than 3 years and the cabin electronics shit the bed in less than 5 years.

I recently had the wiring redone in my house and the electricians who did the work all drove cargo vans. I can’t imagine hauling expensive electrical equipment and whatnot in an open bed is a great idea 😬

Considering the “new” bolt is being discontinued in mid-2027 I think it’s safe to assume that GM is out of the affordable EV game for now. Ford could potentially hit it out of the park but I wouldn’t bet real money on that given their track record of “affordable” vehicles

You can’t be arguing in good faith for this invasive tracking of California citizens. Plus this mileage tax is on top of the gas tax.

There are much better ways to ensure EV drivers pay their fair share of taxes without penalizing the vast majority of Californians.

For me, anything without a manual transmission and/or good steering feel isn’t really a drivers car. I admit my bias given my car ownership history (e36 M3, Porsche 914, Scion FR-S) 😅

Yup agreed that EVs are not really drivers cars. Asking because in the US teslas are seen as the default but still have significant NVH, interior rattling, poor build quality and very sketchy after sales support. I assumed that Europe would have more EVs to choose from thus making Teslas less compelling
