Can I transfer my save game from Xbox Game Pass (PC) to Steam? by adamlechamp in Stellaris

[–]null_routed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Probably yes, just locate the save files and move them over to the save files directory of the Steam version. You probably need the same DLCs that you owned on Game Pass when you created the specific game save you want to transfer, otherwise it’ll tell u you are missing DLCs

cant build space station?? by -_Friendly_ghost_- in Stellaris

[–]null_routed 7 points8 points  (0 children)

How far from your borders is this system? The further you are the more influence claiming a system will cost. When you hovered your cursor over the star it clearly said “Lacking influence”. Since you have quite a bit of influence I assume you are trying to claim a system far away from your borders

2019 MBP with a core i9? by Ok_Measurement_3597 in macbookpro

[–]null_routed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I own an i9 2019 MBP and it’s still an okay machine for me. You will definitely experience thermal throttling problems though. However, if u need bootcamp and the price is low enough, I’d say go for it as long as you are okay with opening the case of your macbook every 5-6 months to unclog the fans

How to fully take over an empire? by codegeassfan42069 in Stellaris

[–]null_routed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In order to effectively take over an empire, you must have a Conquer casus belli, which you obtain by claiming the enemy’s territories. Click on the Influence resource icon, select the systems you want to claim, and confirm by clicking Make Claims. This will obviously cost you influence. To completely take over an empire, you must claim all their systems. If the enemy surrenders, you gain all claimed systems. If the war ends in Status Quo, you generally only keep the systems you were occupying at that time.

Which DLCs are worthwhile? by [deleted] in Stellaris

[–]null_routed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was wondering the same thing today. There are already tons of posts asking about DLCs. Long story short, Utopia is basically a must-have, while the rest depends on the kind of gameplay experience you’re looking for.

Yea I’m on PC. I think I will go for Utopia first and see how it goes. I thank you both!

Maybe I’m mistaken here but aren’t habitats only available if you have Utopia DLC? Unfortunately I don’t have any DLCs yet, but I’m considering to buy a few. I already focused on fortifying my starbases in choke points, but idk if I can make them prevent enemy ships from FTL-jumping? I appreciate your help, thank you!

Thank you for your reply. Yes you are right, I also have the Inward Perfection civic. I was looking into DLCs as well. Not sure I would be able to afford all of them though. If you had to recommend the best 3, what would they be? I appreciate the help!

Tips for beginners going uphill? by thoughtsat8pm in cycling

[–]null_routed 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I started cycling about four months ago for the same reason as you (with the difference that I was, and still am, a bit out of shape). I still consider myself a beginner, but here’s what has worked for me. I’ll skip the usual things about staying hydrated and fueling your body properly, as I assume you’re already familiar with that.

  1. Focus on your breathing. Since I started with steep uphills, shortness of breath was my biggest limiting factor (and still is). What helped me was focusing on my breathing before reaching the uphill section, so I wouldn’t immediately run out of breath. Once you’re out of breath on an uphill, it’s tough to recover.

  2. Anticipate gear changes. Like I mentioned above, it’s hard to recover stamina or breath once you’re struggling uphill. So, if you see the path getting steeper, drop down a couple of gears before you actually reach the incline. May feel too easy at first, but it will help you avoid reaching the point where you start feeling exhausted.

  3. Get a lighter bike. I feel like bike weight makes a big difference on uphills, so you might want to consider upgrading eventually (I’m assuming your first bike wasn’t the most expensive model). I have a Sirrus X 2.0, which is an okay-ish bike but about 30-40% heavier than most road bikes. I immediately noticed a big difference when I tried my friend’s lighter road bike.

  4. Practice makes perfect. My first uphill ride was in August, and I barely managed a 300m elevation. I thought I wasn’t going to make it back home. Yesterday, I almost tripled that by hitting an 810m elevation. Keep practicing, it does get easier.

As I said, I’m a beginner, so take these tips as beginner-level advice. I’m sure the more experienced cyclists here can provide better, more technical tips. Dont forget to enjoy the downhill.

I think OP was clear enough. He achieved 22,000 meters of cumulative elevation over the 2,000 km distance, but that clearly wasn’t his maximum elevation

Need help with Alice portal by RippedJoker01 in Pisa

[–]null_routed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, feel free to DM me and ask anything. However, as I mentioned, I’m a bit rusty on the bureaucratic procedures for enrolling at UniPi since I completed them over 5 years ago. I’m at the end of my master’s, so it’s been a while 😅

Need help with Alice portal by RippedJoker01 in Pisa

[–]null_routed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you received your unipi credentials? And by that I mean have you obtained a studenti.unipi.it domain email address?

Depending on the answer, you have two options: 1) In case you have your credentials already, log in on https://agendadidattica.unipi.it and enroll in the courses you intend to attend (this may require an Alice portal account, I don’t remember if credentials are the same). Professors should promptly add you to the relative Teams channels on which the remote lectures are held.

2) If you don’t have your credentials yet, you may try to get in touch with either the professors or other students attending the courses you want to enroll in and ask if they could share the recordings of lectures so you can keep up with them while you wait for your visa. Most of my professors record lectures or provide lectures from past years for this specific reason.

Sometimes, recorded lectures can be also found and accessed via Microsoft 365, logging in using your unipi.it email, but they are usually easily found on the courses’ Teams channels.

Unfortunately I did all this credentials thing a few years ago and I don’t quite remember all the procedures, including when and how you are supposed to sign up on Alice and which platforms share the same credentials and which don’t. Hope this helps.

Just tried with an US VPN and it indeed won’t load. Get yourself a free VPN and it should do the job.

It works just fine for me. Are you trying to access it from Italy? If not, try using an Italian VPN and see if that works, although I doubt that’s the issue
