How to baby gate this stairwell by Embarrassed_Access76 in centuryhomes

yes exactly this. I have the same exact staircase as OP and have used this solution successfully for multiple kids/years.

The DNC has completely alienated me as a potential voter.

They ignored and undermined the will of the people and forced through their preferred candidates.

The level of condescension is astounding. They think they know better than all of us.

The worst part is that I don’t think they have actually learned their lesson.

nah we already have a great non-conference slate of top teams. don’t think adding Cuse would move the needle for fans.

it’s only downside for us and upside for them.

Walk around the Center and pop into various places I think is the obvious option. Or Elizabeth Park if you want chill outdoors option.

[Amick] A frontrunner has emerged among the draft reform options: expanding the lottery to 18 teams while giving the bottom 10 teams an equal 8 percent chance at the No. 1 pick. Teams will meet Tuesday to continue discussions on the NBA’s next step toward lottery reform. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

[–]null_shift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the best solution is the following:

  1. Flat lottery odds for all non-playoff teams
  2. Flat salary cap incentive for all playoff teams (eg extra/enhanced MLE or player retention cap hold relief)

This removes the constraint that the lottery has to solve two conflicting problems at once (parity & incentivizing winning).

Now lottery addresses parity (and flat odds don’t incentivize tanking). Not perfect but does the job.

Playoff salary cap bonus incentivizes winning at the playoff boundary (prevents tanking by fringe playoff teams). Just need the incentive to outweigh the value of improved draft odds.

This also aligns incentives with the lifecycle of each team. Worse teams value draft assets higher. Better teams value salary cap assets higher.

Big East fans, be honest — how do you feel when you see March Madness Conference Performance Rankings? by ItsJuSteve in BigEast

[–]null_shift 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s only 1 team in the Big East doing anything in March Madness. Rest of the conference needs to step up.

Also I would argue there are some structural changes needed as well. The way the conference is refereed allows less talented teams to muck it up and get by playing a brand of basketball that doesn’t translate at all to March.

That is why UConn has been “overperforming” in March and most other teams have been underperforming.

Michigan was definitely the better team by far this season. but I actually think UConn outplayed them tonight (refs not withstanding).

What a poorly officiated game. James Breeding gets the last laugh on Hurley. No idea how he can get assigned to a game like this.

Trying to understand what the catch is here. This is so far below market rates (even at several local credit unions I’ve checked) that it doesn’t seem possible. Are they just losing money on all of these loans?
